A cavernous discount store with more than 30,000 pairs of men's, women's and children's shoes..
In Short
With new merchandise arriving every week, DSW offers aisles and aisles of name-brand shoes (Kenneth Cole, Franco Sarto, Nike) that are 25 to 50 percent off the original retail price. Shoes are organized by style--not lumped together by designer--allowing you to compare cost, fit and quality all at once. Bargain hunters head straight for the clearance racks, where shoes are marked an additional 30 to 70 percent off.

A Guaranteed Sale.
I visited DSW for the first time two weeks ago. The store is indeed cavernous. It would have been helpful to have aisles labeled. Yes, items are grouped by style but there?s sometimes seemingly similar styles are in different locations. I didn?t think the discounts were all that great and off-price retailers like Marshalls, Ross, T.J. Maxx and Stein Mart have them beat by a mile. I will say, though, that there are so many choices I?d likely come here first if I absolutely have to buy a pair of shoes TODAY.
I bought a par of Kenneth Cole shoes for $50 that retail for about $30 more, but saw the same style (different color) at Ross this past weekend for $30. I will definitely add this to my rotation of stores but put this more in the category of ?I know I?ll find what I need? rather than ?I know I?ll get a great bargain?. I will admit I don?t wear shoes with more than a 2 ?? heel. If I did, I?d probably have a more glowing review. The clearance racks (and there were plenty of them) were chock full of high-heeled bargains.
