High Quality Delicious Food Paired with Great Service!. Last night my husband and I went to Happy Veggie for the first time, and we will definitely return. The food is excellent; it is very high quality, with fresh ingredients. The Mongolian "Beef" was amazing, it could not have been better! The flavors tied together perfectly, and not only was the portion quite generous, but the dish had a lot of soy meat in it. We had the spring rolls, pad thai, and cheesecake dessert as well. All were just as impressive. The cheesecake was totally vegan, so it didn't taste like traditional cheesecake, but it was delicious in its own way. Not only was the food great, but service was impeccable as well. Granted the restaurant wasn't very busy, but the woman serving was attentive and timely. The food was served at the perfect tempo: not too slow, but not rushed either. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

great great great veggie food. I am a vegetarian and not usually into imitation meats but this lady knows how to cook. Such delicious fake chickens and other meats with vegetables and great soups. The food is super fresh and made with care. The place is a little dark but it's always busy. I have even seen Kevin Nealon there twice!

If you didn't know it was vegetarian, you wouldn't know if was vegetarian!! :). It?s the best vegetarian restaurant that I?ve ever been to. What makes it so crazy good is that they really know how to put together textures, flavors, and colors to make their food palatable beyond belief. My taste buds are in heaven every time I go there. I?ve never had one bad dish. I?ve taken about 6 non-vegetarians there and they?ve all gone back?even as soon as the next day. Oh?and you must try their vegan cheesecake. I don?t know how they do it, but to me, it?s even better than a non-vegan cheesecake. It?s so light and creamy ? not heavy so that it weighs you down.

The service is also excellent ? super friendly and hospitable. Parking is super easy.

Happy Veggie. Vegetarian, Vegan restaurant.

The food is amazing, The BEST Vegetarian food I have ever had, I am a Vegetarian since childhood.

If you visit this restaurant you will want to become one too (my husband who eats everything that moves, agree with me :-)

I would especially like to thank our old customers from Huntington Beach, our new customers from Redondo, the kind people who wrote reviews here, the daily breeze and beach cities reporter for their wonderful reviews. There are so many people to thank that I can't even begin with names. It is very hard to own your own business in this day and age and it is for my wonderful customers that I perservere!

Eh.... I am vegan and from out of town. I have been visiting family in Redondo Beach and have tried a few of the vegetarian/vegan restaurants in the area. Happy Veggie is not my favorite. The service is not so great and I have had more than a few upset stomachs after my dinning there. Could be the over processed veggie-meats and food coloring they use (the sweet & sour chicken is bright pink). I have only been here a couple times and each time have been disappointed. There are much better vegetarian spots in the area with friendlier service.

Happy Veggie is the Best. Great people, great food. If you are feeling sick the PHO is better than your mom's chicken soup. It's a small business, let's eat there as often as we can (and pay with cash.)

You wouldn't know it was vegetarian. This restaurant is amazing! The menu is mostly asian but I heard the cook makes great Italian (for catering). The menu is filled with soy meats and lots of fresh veggies. I can personally attest that I HATE soy meats but I think it could fool anyone for real chicken. The beef is a little different. Both my boyfriend and father now eat there all the time and they are meat and potatoes kind of guys. My advice is if your family is like that, just get it to go and don't tell them.

The owners are siblings, Pam serves the customers and is a delight, while her brother cooks.

As for reccommended dishes, as a note I like things spicy and allways ask for extra spicy. The green bean "chicken", lemon grass "chicken", mongolian "beef or chicken", kung pao, the Pho, the wonton soup is to die for, and probably just about everything else. Oh yeah, the fried tofu- its thin and you dip it in a lemon juice and pepper mix. I love it! I love a restaurant when they are very health consious and use loads of veggies, like this one does.

Overall, highly reccommended. Other things to know, the restaurant is vegan. It is closed on sundays. I believe the hours are monday thru sat 11-9. Enjoy!

Moved to Redondo Beach, great food, great customer service, friendly family-owned. Happy Veggie is a small, quaint restaurant, great for a casual lunch and dinner or something to-go. I tried a few of the (veggie)chicken dishes and they were delicious. I've already developed a craving for their menu and want to try the other dishes. It is also a family-owned restaurant so they are friendly and very helpful. I came in one day to order take-out and one of the owners invited me to sit with her while she had her lunch and offered me water. She was very nice and discussed some her dishes with me. I love having this kind of environment and friendliness in my neighborhood. Let's help keep this restaturant in the South Bay--Eat Happy Veggie!
