decent price, ridiculous suggestions
extremely rude/incompetent tech support.
To be honest, I am probably not going to shop with Cyberpower again even though I was a repeat customer and had referred a couple of other people.
First of all, I called their tech support for the first time a couple days after I got my computer, and I must say that it's the absolute worst I'd ever experienced. The person who answered the call (he said his name was Alvin) was extremely rude and condescending. I'm surprised Cyberpower even hire such people.
I called to ask about my ethernet port not working and he replied in a condescending tone, "Of course it's not working yet, you haven't installed the drivers!" Okay, fine. Then I asked which CD I need to use because I couldn't find any with the drivers on them. One CD's autoplay even generated an I/O error and couldn't be read. So, he told me to put in a CD I had read out to him and he immediately assumed that it was the correct one. I kept repeating that there were no options for driver installation, but instead of listening to me, he chose to assume I was wrong. He finally asked me to read what I saw in the window, and after I had done so, realized that there was in fact no option for driver installation and replied: "Well, you can download it from the Internet." I told him that I can't get to the Internet so that's why I'm calling in the first place. After a bit of stunned silence, he told me to go to another computer and download it. Then I asked, "What if this is my only computer?" Just when I thought he was out of ridiculous suggestions, he told me to just go download it from some place else. I told him that this was the crappiest tech support ever and hung up.
They make okay computers for a decent price, but I wouldn't ever shop here again.
