spacious spa, awful experience, terrific spacious workout facility, poor discrimination, bad manner, best service, poor business practices
IF YOU ARE CLOSE MINDED and IGNORANT DONT GO HERE. Ok people, are you THAT blind that you didn't realize you're in Koreatown when you parked?! This is not Kinara or Burke Williams..it's better.. and cheaper..and there aren't loud white women gossiping around you everywhere (which I absolutely AM a loud white woman, so i appreciate it all the more). Don't go here to make friends, or be seen, go here to RELAX. When you go here expect; a VERY clean facility (with disposable toothbrushes, combs etc provided for free), everyone INCLUDING you will be soaking or getting treatments in the buff so if you aren't comfortable this way DONT GO, NOBODY other than the techs will talk to you (this is one of my FAVORITE things about Aroma Spa- SILENCE!), the techs ONLY talk when they are calling your number to come back or asking you to flip over, they do not speak much english (they don't need to!!), (I would say 90% of the clientele is asian, so you will need to pay a little bit of attention to the ladies calling out numbers in korean around the time you are scheduled for service). If you are not a member of Aroma Spa (most guests are members...for a reason!) then you will need to pay a small "spa use" fee of about apx. $15 depending on what the cost of your spa services are. This is a nominal fee considering what you have unlimited use of (thats right, unlimited, come an hour and a half before your treatment and soak if you want, plus an hour after too!) When I go in, I pay $100 to get a 45 min body scrub followed up by a 45 min massage that includes cucumber moosh face mask while you're rubbed down, then they remove the moosh and give you a facial massage, and then a conditioned scalp massage. The tech won't go on about her boyfriend or ask questions you can barely understand like your nail tech will... just silence...and indulgence...and relaxation... for $100... if you don't get it, PLEASE don't go. We don't want/need Aroma Spa to change. Thanks!
STAY AWAY! Awful Experience!. STAY AWAY!I wish I could give negative stars. Discriminatory and Rude LA Spa: Aroma Resort, bad, bad, bad! Horrible experience! Staff allowed another spa guest to verbally assault me and my guests in the Spa room because we were not in the buff like them in the spa room. There was nothing saying we had to be in the buff and no one made us aware of this. She said ?To take our culture and go back to our country and use it over there?. Manager, staff and owner did NOTHING. We felt insulted and unwelcome even upon our arrival. We were not shown the facilities or told of the spa etiquette for the whirlpool. I have been to many spas around the world and have NEVER been treated in this bad manner. They should be reported to the media and told of their poor business practices and discrimination. There website is totally inaccurate and opposite of what the place actually is. I repeat STAY AWAY!
Decent Driving Range. I have not been to the spa, but the driving range facilities are OK. IF you are hitting short irons do not go to the upper levels. The screen becomes a factor. The price is decent and the per ball rate goes down if you buy a bigger $ amount card. The instructors are WAY over-priced. The lessons are more than $100 per hour which far exceeds the average for L.A.
Great Spa for MEN and WOMEN!!!. Great for both men and women. Very nice and clean. Rates were good. Made me feel comfortable although i wasnt too comfortable with going to a spa. i highly recommend. Will go again and try out their many services.
User review by eveandadam. I found the spa clean and to be just about what I expected, no modesty, yet comfortable. Unfortunately, they forgot about me! My appointment was 30 minutes after my arrival time, at the one hour mark, wrinkled like a prune, I sadly got dressed and went out to the front desk. Not only did they forget me, they tried to charge me a "spa use fee"! I will not go back, there are too many other choices, a waste of time.
Don't expect Enya and candlelight at this Asian bathhouse for the new millennium..
Open, airy and beautifully lit, Aroma Spa attracts mostly well-heeled Koreans for whom brisk exfoliating and quiet socializing go hand in hand. Extras at this state-of-the-art facility include infrared locker keys, TV in the dry sauna, bird's-eye maple shoe lockers and individually wrapped toothbrushes.
Massages, body wraps and scrubs, high-tech facials--they're all on the roster, including some aruyvedic and fancy mud therapies. The purchase of any treatment more than $60 gains patrons access to the immaculate facilities (gender-separated) which include an oversized soaking tub, three saunas (dry, mist, wet), and chamber-like rooms lined with the exotic--curative substances of oxygenated Jade or Hwangto mud. Korean Buff and Massage, an hour-long opus in the wet treatment room, consists of vigorous scrubbing, hot oil slathering and pitiless massage strokes topped off with a facial pack of cool, pureed cucumber.
OPEN YOU MIND AND YOUR CLOTHES. Truly an interesting experience. unlike other spas, at Aroma you must shed your clothing and inhibitions at the door, there is ZERO privacy for anything to include showers, dressing rooms etc. If you're cool with that, the service is the best in L.A., the spa is super clean and spacious, they have beautiful whirlpools, sauna, steam, cool dips and any service imaginable. A truly delightful experience as long as you go with an open mind for a unique way of pampering.
Very Very strong. A wonderful facility with professional help. Terrific spa and spacious workout facility in the heart of Koreatown.
