THE BEST PIZZA IN LOS ANGELES (COUNTY). PERIOD.. This Italian restaurant used to be in Hollywood by the Capitol Records building and for years offered the absolute best pizza in L.A. with a particularly perfect crust. Whenever somebody would say "there's no good pizza in LA," we'd take them to Palermo's to change their mind. It always worked.

The meatball topping is especially good as they make it the correct way--it's not just ground beef thrown on top of the pie, they make a meatball first, then slice it up and put it on the pizza.

Sadly, nearly a decade ago they moved to Covina, about 30 minutes outside of the city. But a couple of times of year, we go out there to remember the good old days. I'm never disappointed.
