What People Are Saying About Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill

In Short – This isn't a typical barbecue joint, and the vibe and food are anything but rustic. Inside, families and couples at large booths and tables feast on mesquite-grilled BBQ in a modern, earth-toned setting. Slow-roasted meats, such as baby-back ribs and chicken, dominate the moderately-priced menu, but crowd-pleasers also include the 15-ounce Kansas City Strip, freshwater Idaho trout and balsamic shrimp. If that doesn't trip the trigger, Certified Angus Beef burgers and mile-high salads are other options.

HONEY, WE SHRUNK THE FOOD!
by Kevin Lewis at Citysearch
THE GROVE next to shopping stores. (Fairfax avenue off of).
Cinchy! Cinchy! I was there a year ago and I could SEE the food, the servings were huge.
A year later I go (which is today) and I actually went back to the restaurant and asked for some type of sauce for the burgers (THEY WON'T PUT MUSTARD, MAYO ON THE BUN NOR ASK U WHAT SAUCE U WOULD LIKE. U JUST DON"T GET ANY AND THEY T E L L U T H A T!
I went back to ask for another bunch of brocolli; and the man at the front entrance said NO. (HOW CHEAP ... SO CHEAP he squeaked when he walked ..,. SCROUGES' BROTHER PERHAPS ?
When I ordered and asked a questionn, my waiter DID NOT WANT TO stand there and explain the menu to me. He got perturbed and said he'll come back, I said 'no listen ,.. I get this from the people in public ... but inside this restaurant where I am a paying customer, I don't need to hear your frustration. So I got up and got another table with another waiter. My only error was that when I got up, I SHOULD HAVE KEPT WALKING OUT OF THE FRONT DOOR. WHEN YOU ARE IN YOUR LATE FORTIES' F O R G E T IT ... U WON'T FEEL WELCOME. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO NEXT DOOR TO MAGIANNO'S ITALIAN RESTAURANT. THEY TREAT U LIKE FAMILY. THERE is NO family here ... there are 'just robots disguised at humans who DON'T and WON'T EXTEND THEMSELVES. BYE!
very good food, service and atmosphere.

The food is really good. A bit pricey for what you get ($20 for baby back ribs and coleslaw), but tasty and a nice atmosphere.
Plus, the service was excellent. Our server was Vanessa and she was uniquely good at her job, enthusiastic and great food and wine recommendations. I walked out having loved eating there---service makes all the difference.
Best Pulled Pork in LA
by Truefact at Citysearch
I'm never sure why anyone insists they know what "authentic" BBQ is, but let me do that right now anyway! I just went to this place for the first time and have to say that I have not had better pulled pork since I lived in Winston-Salem, NC. The smoke is just right and the Carolina sauce and slaw are true to the original versions in Lexington. The pork is different -- and better! -- in that it's not chopped here, but it's actually pulled. My friend ordered the pulled pork sliders and I was doubtful, but I had one of them and then ordered my own sandwich. Just real tasty stuff here. I also tasted the tri tip and it's next on my list when I come back here. Service was great too.

Commercialized, But Reliable

If Cheesecake factory opened a BBQ joint, this is pretty much what you’d expect it to be like. Wood Ranch is the chain restaurant’s answer to BBQ, and it’s definitely not the type of BBQ spot that you’d see on the show “Dinners, Drive-Ins, and Dives”. Knowing what to expect and not comparing it to truly authentic Southern BBQ, you’ll find that Wood Ranch can be quite enjoyable. They have all sorts of BBQ like Tri Tip, Baby Back Ribs, and Chicken. They even have salads, burgers and sandwiches all featuring their BBQ as well.
