beautiful house warming gift, gem ok, favorite stores, great place
Collectible glassware, home accessories and other functional, lovingly displayed designs for the homefront..
Bringing new meaning to the phrase "home is where the heart is," owner Larry Schaffer has been carefully plucking all of the merchandise for his gem of a boutique on Third Street from unique, artisan sources since 1999. If you've managed to burn out on Crate and Barrel clones, this small space makes for an appealing alternative. Some of the more earthly objects for sale could be considered modern classics; exquisitely designed and fragile Japanese teacups, sturdy wallets in bright tones--the silver, numbered Comme des Garcons is very popular--gorgeous, simple jewelry and sleek silver pens. Danish design fanatics will delight in the classic telephone display tucked away in the center island, where the excellent selection of books is stocked for modernist bookworms. Then again, there's always the smattering of items that just look good while, ahem, looking good. Chunky wooden sculptures by Terou Kinoshita, exotic insects captured in frames and handsewn stuffed animals can add some much-needed personality to your space. The stock rotates and new items hit the shelves all the time, so the odds you'll find a unique piece to keep forever are always good.
Nice Glass!. This place reminds of a little slice of Selfridges, the ultra-hip modern shopping mecca in London U.K. They have designer glassware, pens, books, coffee/tea service, clocks, etc. all with a strong European design sensability. A great place to pick up a unique gift.
