nice customer service, great fav, great kids, pretty knowledgeable staff, really love unexplained personal questions, excellent running shoes, extensive selections
You're better off driving to Run With Us in Pasadena.
The shoe store is fine -- good selection, and the staff seem pretty knowledgeable. The clothing store is a joke. Service is just ridiculously useless. Want to buy some cold-weather running pants? Too bad, they only carry tights. Want to buy a Moving Comfort sports bra? Hope you wear a size 34 or up, because they don't carry anything smaller. Maybe the lack of selection has something to do with 50% of the store being devoted to cute but functionally useless "casual" clothes.
I really LOVE the unexplained personal questions when you make a purchase. My last name? My address? It's because they want you on their mailing list, but they don't bother asking you if A) you're on the mailing list or B) you WANT to be on the list. Every single time I have to ASK if I could just make my purchase, because they will spend 5 minutes or more trying to find me on a mailing list that I'm not on and don't want to be on.
(And am I really the only person who has this problem? There have to be a couple hundred working actors, writers and directors living in Brentwood -- none of whom would want to announce their home address aloud in public.)
I am relieved to say I'll never be going back, but let my experience save you some hassle: Don't bother! There are LOTS of other running/athletic stores to choose from!
A sportswear store that's in the lead when it comes to selection..
The Scene
Among the biggest selection of sneakers and sportswear in Los Angeles, the store is divided into two parts: shoes and apparel. Owner Paul Tordella has been in the footwear game for 25 years, and his wisdom is evident in the staggering selection of brands and styles lining the walls of that department.
The Goods
The sneaker building is further divided into men's, women's and children's sections, and contains all the top brands. Nike and Reebok are represented, as are smaller brands such as Simple and Gazelle. Even the ugly-but-functional UGG boots are available in several different styles. The apparel building is stocked with shorts, sweatshirts and sports bras by Adidas and Puma, among others. There's also a large variety of skate gear for more antiestablishment-inclined athletes.
Went for Adult running attire. Found great kids selection of shoes.. Great selection of New Balance children's shoes. Attentive to my needs for children. Explained about best sizing for children. I had a good experience there.
Great store, especially if your a runner!!!. I just discovered this store and love it! I got excellent running shoes Asics...my fav, and the customer service was great. They will watch you walk and tell you what kind of shoes you should be wearing. They have a great selection as well. Also know that the shoe store is separate from the clothing store, visit both!!
Worst store ever!!!. The employees talk behind your back. Everything is marked up double what the store pays for. Returns are restocked and sold again. Service is nice ONLY if you are spending a lot. Don't bother trying to buy kid's shoes, no one will help you probably because the 8% commission they get isn't enough. Stay away, your money is better off somewhere else.
All about running. There are separate shoe and clothing stores in the same mall. The shoe side has all the top athletic shoes. Running shoes has extensive selections while basketball shoes selection was just okay. The service there is extremely courteous and knowledgeable. The best thing about this store is that there are always shoes on sale at a great discount.
