view & uploadgreat place, always friendly customer service, delicious european cakes, fantastic pastries, good hot coffee, favorite bakery, helpful staff

The employees here are so friendly and helpful. They have an enormous selection of pastries, cookies and cakes. They open late for your late night cravings. I love their carrot cake and coconut cake. Full cakes and slices available.
Beautiful baked goods in a lovely setting. Susina's croissants, cakes and flaky pastries are simple and really, really delicious.

Whether it's lavish birthday cakes bedecked with ribbons of perfectly curled frosting or brunch spots for workaholics who can't part with their laptops, this Mid-City bakery has you covered.

The woman behind the counter was very patient with us tonight when we asked about almost everything in the case. I opted for the berry bread pudding which was dense, heavy and oh so decadent.
Solid pastries and good Paninis. I went to Susina Bakery after seeing it highlighted on the food network. I tried the salami panini sandwich and bought an assortment of the small cookies. The panini was simple and tasty but the highlight was the cookies. The bite size treats have great individual flavors and textures, which makes it tough to stop eating them. Be careful or you'll wonder where all of them went. I'll be coming back to try some of the other pastries and salads they had on the menu.
Does NOT have FREE WiFi / WIRELESS. You can get the t-mobile wireless from Starbucks next door if you pay for it. Street parking only. It took about 5 minutes to park including the short block's walk to the bakery. It was very crowded on a Saturday early afternoon with only outdoor seating - which was nothing special. By 4pm there was a little indoor seating. The place was Art Nouveau adorable and I was very tempted by the Pear-Brie Panini. But I had to keep moving for wifi.
Best Bakery in Town!.
This place is wonderful, and I'm here all the time. Get there early for the fresh croissants and scones- try the ras-polenta or the chocolate cherry scones that nobody else in town makes. Always get the coffee, it's locally roasted and makes for a delicious latte. Try the home-made granola, spinach and feta croissants, or the ham and cheese quiche for breakfast.
Whenever you get here, you absolutely must try the Berry Blossom cake. I can't describe the thing, so I'm not even going to try. Just get it. You'll thank me later.
Oh, and the staff is great. Parking at night is a little difficult, but more than worth it for this place.
BERRY BLOSSOM CAKE.. I found Susina's Bakery in citysearch and decided to check it out. Parking was somewhat difficult, and we ended up parking in a neighborhood nearby. The shop itself is half bakery, half cafe. People come here for small business lunches, to read, or use the free wi-fi. The bakery itself is gorgeous. High ceilings, warm tones, gold and glass cases packed with pastries, cakes and desserts dipped in chocolates. Menus were black chalkboards written in cute colored chalks. The bakery also offered bountiful bowls of fresh salads, sandwiches and lasagna. We decided to try a mediterranean salad, a slice of lasagna and the berry blossom cake for dessert. The salad was nothing out of the ordinary, had the olives, red onion, feta cheese, vinagrette dressing. The lasagna was wasn't anything special either and was actually more like a meaty spaghetti sauce if anything. However, the berry blossom cake was amazing! Its a huge slice (probably a 4 layer cake) with white chocolate frosting inbetween layers of vanilla cake with all types of berries and bits of white chocolate. It was light, but extremely flavorful at the same time. Enjoyable! We finished it all! I would come back here for the pastries, but not so much for the food.
Always a pleasure.
I have been ordering from Sussina for the past 3 months for breakfast delivery at my company. The quiches and pasteries are always yummy. Orders come on time and with a smile.
Love this place!
Best Wedding Cake Ever.... We ordered two large berry blossom cakes plus assorted tarts, cookies and cupcakes for our recent wedding reception. We did shop around for our cake at the other bakeries in town and it was no contest. But don't take my word for it. Guest after guest at the wedding came up to us and asked us where we got the cake calling it the best wedding cake they had ever tasted. Great food and great service. Try it!
I'd live there if I could!. Susina was a breath of fresh air after the horrible, rude, condescending service at Sweet Lady Jane. The man who waited on us at the bakery was so helpful and patient, even while my friends and I hemmed and hawed and dawdled over the displays, trying to make up our minds. I especially recommend the sandwiches and the Mandarin Cheesecake.
Above Average, but not mind-blowing bakery.
I went to Susina last night with a couple people - I had the Bear cake, and my friends had the hazelnut-chocolate cake and the apple tart. I would say that all three were OK - perhaps a little above average, but nothing special. We also ordered a Chai latte, which they forgot to make until we reminded them 15 minutes later (It was excellent, though).
If you like fruit-based desserts and pies, this place is perhaps worth a try, but I can't agree with the 9.8 rating, or the rave reviews. If you are like me, and you prefer decadent chocolate/vanilla/creamy/sweet desserts, then definitely don't bother. I have had far better sweets at other places in L.A.
enjoyable triple berry cake. i have been here 4 or 5 times now and each time, the triple berry cake is pretty good (i say comparable to or a bit better than sweet lady jane's). my only problem is that if you go during peak hours, it will be very difficult to find a table. otherwise, i do enjoy coming here. the service is friendly.
Berry Blossom Cake Rules!. I must admit I haven't eaten a lot of different things here because I'm so in love with the berry blossom cake - moist yellow cake with the freshest berries encased in light cream frosting and crunchy meringue pieces - so good!!! I think it's better than the triple berry at a competing bakery. The bakery itself is also charming, especially with the old-fashioned candies and treats scattered throughout the place (although the prices are quite steep). i like being able to read there with a big slice of cake and good, hot coffee. it's a great place - check it out!
