Editorial Review for Tere's Mexican Grill – by Jason Clampet

In Short
While easy to miss on the outside, this straight-shooting Mexican spot has a sunny, earthy interior. Guests order at the counter, then sit on tennis ball-footed iron chairs inside, or at a table on the sidewalk. Handmade tortillas are the foundation for much of the menu, but don't order before consulting the whiteboard of daily specials or asking the person at the counter for advice. Accompany everything with one of the six types of salsa.

One of my favorite mexican stops in the city. The food is absolutely delicious!! Burritos are my item of choice and their nachos and chicken verde enchiladas are very high on my list. The staff is very friendly and I always find it to be a pleasant dining experience. Although their chips are not complimentary, they are worth the extra $1. Meat is very lean and everything is fresh. Highly recommend it!

Pros: quality of food, friendly staff

This place is so easy going and uncomplicated. Go to the counter, order your food, pay, take your number, and sit down. When your food is hot and ready they bring the food to you. How simple! They even serve you on real plates and you get to use real silverware, all for the price of a fast-food place. The guacamole is awesome! I also love their chile rellenos. The burritos are big and filling. I've heard the mole sauce is really good. The horchata is just like grandma used to make! They make it fresh every day. They also make their own salsas, which are free at the salsa bar. The staff has always been very cheerful and helpful. I always feel welcome. They take credit cards and phone orders. I never have problems finding parking in their lot.

Pros: Fresh to order food, patio dining, good parking, good service

Cons: closed on Sundays =-(
