The best way to describe this cafe is quaint. It feels like home, and they serve the tea in nice china. My sister & my mom have gone here in the early afternoon and had the chance to try lots of their special sandwiches. I definitely want to go back!

Not only does Chado Tea Room offer wonderful loose leaf tea, they have tons of different kinds to choose from and give a little background information on each kind (Assam from Northern India, etc). The atmosphere fits all styles as well - from tea hats to jeans and flip flops. It gets really busy on the weekends, but if you have a reservation you will always get seated. Also, pay the extra $1.00 for the Chado Cream with your scone. It is more than worth it!

I took my mom, dad, and boyfriend here for Mother's Day and they had a blast. The service was prompt. Their portions were very generous (we even had enough food to take home) at a reasonable price of $15 per person. They even gave each mom a red rose. Its great for groups, catching up with your girlfriends, and very guy-friendly. Try their Chado Afternoon tea. Its a great mix of strong and subtle taste which makes a good pairing with their afternoon tea menu. Make sure to call ahead for reservations. Its a great modern take on an old repast.
