Great Place to dine well in simplicity

I love going to yokohama. When I have people I want to treat for lunch or simply want to spend time alone Yokohama is the place. First of all the food is great for the price. The best time to go is in the late afternoon thats when the energy of the restaurant is really high and I don't mean crowded I just mean full of enthusiasm and promptness. It is a cozy place where you can unwind or focus if needed. I never order beverages so I can not comment on the quality of the drinks but the sushi is fresh and tasty. I love everything I have tasted from the lunch platters to the rolls and sashimi. They have options so if you are watching your weight that is an excellent place to dine as well. I will definetly go again and my intention was to go today but to take out so I can have people over and watch movies this evening.
Fabulous Sushi!

Well, I just thought that this place was the bee's! I am picky about what kind of sushi I will eat, only because I am a texture sensitive person, and this place was great! It was SUPER fresh, as far as the fish went. I ordered the Eel Special roll and the House roll, and they were both excellent. The waitress(es) were very sweet, prompt, and accurate as nothing was wrong and our food came out quickly. The only thing I laughed about was that sodas come in cans, and they had crazy music playing that made me giggle every five minutes. All in all, I loved this place and I will be returning!
PS: I think people that make reviews like the one before me were just having a bad day and probably were rude to everyone :) They were wonderful to us, and seemingly to everyone else in the restaurant.
- Pros: Fresh fish, great parking, decent price.
- Cons: Nada.
Worst Sushi Ever!!! I rather have starved

Last night I ate at Yokohama for the very first time. As soon as we sat down we ordered a large bottle of hot sake. When the sake arrived a swarm of gnats surrounded our table . We asked the waitress if we can move tables do to the swarm of gnats. She kindly said yes but informed us that , the gnats are attracted to the sake and soy sauce. She mentioned that the gnats would continue to follow us even if we moved tables. She was right but I've never had this problem at any other sushi restaurant in my life. Not only were the gnats disgusting so was the hot sake. The sake looked a little yellow and tasted like hot old eggs. We ordered the sashimi platter with a side of white rice. The rice tasted as if it was burnt rice from the bottom of the rice cooker. It wasn't even sticky. The sashimi was cut to thick and tasted old and warm. As soon as I started eating it I began to feel sick to my stomach. My friend and I decided we wanted to leave. We asked the waitress for the bill. We waited about twenty minutes for her to bring it. She obviously had forgotten and we had to walk up to the register to ask her again( MIND YOU THERE WAS ONLY ONE TABLE IN THE RESTAURANT OTHER THAN US). A few hours after eating there I got sick to my stomach. The food and the service was horrible. I wouldn't eat here even if it was free. save yourself the stomach ache and eat somewhere else
- Pros: no wait
- Cons: food, service, ambience and gnats
