In Short – Under a royal-blue awning with charming fenced-patio and flowers, this cozy cafe offers affordable French dining. Behind the glass storefront with bold lettering, a narrow dining room features a long wine bar on one side and bistro tables with bentwood chairs on the other. French touches include red-and-white table clothes, fresh bread with dipping oil, and an affordable wine list. The menu incorporates foie gras terrine and duck legs confit, along with less-intimidating choices like roast chicken and filet mignon.
Hermitage is Closed replaced by MEET

What used to be Hermitage is now called MEET. For only being open four weeks, we were very impressed with the food, the service. The prices were very reasonable and with wine, an appetizer, two entrees and dessert, it coust us just under a hundred dollars, which in LA is very reasonable, especially when you leave satisfied. It's quaint, so don't expect not to hear your neighbor's conversation, but the rest makes up for it. I highly recommend this place and I'm wishing this local gem to succeed in these hard financial times. It's a good one, would love to see it stay around for a long time. PS, management is fantastic, the owner makes sure you are happy or he goes out of his way to do so. We will be back and we will be spreading the word around to our friends to visit
- Pros: FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE AT MEET
BEST FRENCH BISTRO IN TOWN
by bluewater
This is my favorite restaurant in the area. The food is always delicious, the atmosphere is cozy, but very pleasant, and the service is consistently the best I have at any restaurant in LA.
I went there 2 days ago and I had not been to Bistro de l'Hermitage for ahwile, and I am glad to say that it is as wonderful as I remembered. the sauteed lamb remains my favorite dish anywhere and the chocolate ganache cake with strawberry sauce is just delicious !
This place is really good and the prices aren't outrageous like at other French restaurants.

The Details on Hermitage Bistro
Know Before You Go:
A lot of bang for the buck, usually pricey dishes like veal liver and rack of lamb are surprisingly affordable
Save Time:
For faster service, avoid peak lunchtime hours--Sony execs seem to queue-up anytime between noon and 2pm on weekdays.
What to Drink:
The restaurant features an impressively lengthy selection of Bourdeaux wines and some imported beers, but does not have a full-liquor license for cocktail drinkers.
