Best food in Los Angeles. This little gem on San Vicente and 26th has some of the best food I've had in Los Angeles. My boyfriend and I went there about a year ago because it was down the street, although we didn't expect much since we saw no reviews and typically go to only the highest rated restaurants. The place is small, cozy and warm feeling. Behind a curved counter you can see the tiny immaculate kitchen and watch your dinner come up. The duck here is incredible.. it falls off the bone and tastes more succulent than any duck I've had in the United States. The sauces complement the dishes beautifully and the menu offers creative twists as well as traditional favorites. The mussles here are plump and fresh, we've had them in a white wine as well as a saffron sauce and both times they were cooked perfectly. The wine list is comprehensive and the service professional and welcoming. The specials change frequently and are never a disappointment. The dishes are perfectly sized and artfully presented on pretty glass dishes. I almost didn't want to write a review because this may be L.A.'s best kept little secret, but wanted others to experience the chef's heavenly dishes.

California bistro serves upscale comfort food in a romantic setting.. In Short
This cozy, candlelit room hums with activity, yet is quiet enough for intimate conversation. Groups and couples toast each other with bottles of cab plucked from the towering wine rack that frames the gleaming, open kitchen. Healthy California fare makes up the menu: Appetizers include beet salad with goat cheese, and wasabi-kicked tuna tartare. For entrees, the kitchen bakes thin-crust pizzas and international dishes like Moroccan chicken and Scottish salmon.
