This squeaky-clean neighborhood favorite swarms with barbecue fans and families alike. Wash-bucket metal chairs around checker-topped tables gives the little storefront a stylishly down-home feel. Order at the counter, then grab a table quick; your plates will be delivered in no time.
The Food
Chefs from Reign and Maple Drive (who brought comfort food to Beverly Hills) have paired up with well-known Montrose meat purveyors, so expect good barbecue with flair. The plates are as tidy as the room: Wood-smoked meats arrive dry, ready for a good slathering of zippy Memphis-style, spicy-sweet Kansas City or mustardy Carolina sauce. Combo up tender baby backs, beefy spare ribs, juicy chicken, brisket or hot links with fresh coleslaw and smoky baked beans for a belly-bustin' meal. Share a round of puffy hush puppies and crisp sweet potato fries, and top it all off with a hot fudge sundae or gooey brownie.

I've never rated a resaurant before, but here it goes. I expected a large joint, but Zeke's is a small yet cozy eatery. Could decide if I should order the Memphis style baby backs or the Kansas City spare ribs. I decided to go with the baby backs, because hubby got the sampler platter, which meant that I could taste the spare ribs on his plate. Thank goodness I ordered the baby backs, because I thought the spare ribs were a little too fatty. The baby backs didn't have the meat falling off of the bone, but they were tasty. Also tasted the chicken on the sampler platter, it was very juicy with good flavor. I thought the cole slaw was a bit dry, and the garlic toast was a little too toasted. I rated this restaurant a 4 because the other members in my party did not have any complaints. Oh, if you have a large group, good luck. You'd better give them a call first. So there you go Zeke's! We'll more than likely go back again.

This is a great barbecue place. Very casual, but cute. The pulled pork sandwich is wonderful, and so are the sweek potato fries. Really good prices.

Went to the Zekes in Hollywood which is pretty new.Never tried Louisiana barbeque,But , was taken by my New Orleans girlfriend.I must say,It was very tasty food.Have been back 3 times more.It should be a lot busier than what it is.Maybe ,The cuisine is too obscure for L.A.I do highly recommend the po-boy pork sandwich. damn it's good ! Makes a change from the typical L.A restaurants.

What to Drink:
A good zinfandel with the barbecue will hit the spot.

Order meats by the pound, sides by the quart and chili by the gallon for big parties. Staff will remember everything, down to the last sauce.
