In Short – On weekends, the entrance is inevitably packed with families picnicking and wading in the Arroyo Seco Creek. Hike just one mile downstream and reward yourself with waterfalls, wildflowers and quiet. At the fork in the road, head left down Bear Canyon Trail, which skims the canyon wall and then heads back down to the stream. Once at the bottom, hike 100 yards upstream to discover a gorgeous waterfall emptying into a natural swimming hole surrounded by sheer rock walls.

Please be very cautious when hiking on top of Switzer falls!! The rocks are very smooth leading down to the actual falls! I slipped on the wet rocks and went over. I'm a very athletic female and am very active. This is a very dangerous place to be. Enjoy the view from the first pool above. I do not recommend going further! I survived the fall with an extremely sore and bruised body. I want to stress this to every hiker out there. I'm lucky to be alive and I just want to advise the rest of the public because there are no warning signs, fences or gates. I'm passing this along to maybe(hopefully save a life!
