Very cool, very zen. Slightly off the beaten track but that is part of the appeal. They have a nice outdoor patio with a fireplace off of the lobby bar that is a wonderful place to "hang" in the late afternoons. It is waiting to be discovered but shhh...I like being able to get a seat.

A great low key lounge. I love this place. The decor and lighting are warm and inviting, the service is consistently good, and the food is great. It's the perfect place to go after a show, movie, etc. when you want good food and a quiet place to talk without having to do a whole restaurant meal. Everything from the Kobe burger to the desserts were above average.

Sedate, modern elegance rules at this stately hotel lounge.. The Scene
The word "civilized" comes to mind when entering this massive and modern hotel lobby, which reeks of elegance and understated glamour. Although a favorite among the music and fashion elite, the bar is surprisingly restrained and sophisticated. Lounge on caramel-toned sofas before a glowing fireplace, sipping wine and enjoying the privacy this tucked-away oasis affords. Framed manuscripts that line the walls earned the lounge its title. The adjacent garden patio has been half a dozen restaurants in the past few years, but is always a nice quiet place to steal away for a smoke.

The Draw
A sleek and warm atmosphere makes Writer's Bar a perfect place for a romantic tête-à-tête, a reunion with old friends, or a business drink with a client you want to impress. But do prepare for a shockingly high price tag for all this civility--and do put it on your expense account.
