view & uploadloved kids, very nice crew, best whale watch, less objectionable minute tour, comfortable stop, recommend nearby aquarium, dirty floor inside
We went out and within about 15 minutes began to see whales. We saw many whales that day and quite a few dolphins. The Marine Biologist onboard was so informative. I never knew before that the Blue Whale was the largest mammal that ever lived. All of the staff was very friendly and informative.
Excellent Whale Watching. Went whale watching and saw lots of dolphins and a blue whale! My kids loved it! Parking minute away from the boats and lots of restaurant choices seconds away, overall a wonderful experience!
A family day with the whales. My family and I went downtown Long Beach this past weekend to spend the day on a family outting. As we were walking we seen Whale Watching signs and decided to take a tour. The girl at the information booth was very polite and helpful, she answered all our questions and put us on the next available tour. It was the best day we had in a very long time. My kids were amazed at the whals and dolphins they seen. The trip was very informative, we had a wonderful time and the kids cant wait to go again. Thats all my family has been speaking about since the trip. I recommend the trip to any one that wants to have a fantastic day.
The Best Whale Watch I Ever Had...EVER!!!. Wow, that was the best whale watch I have ever been on in my 37 years of life. The crew was very nice to me and my three wild children. The captain let my three year-old twins help drive the boat. I went on February Twenty-Forth and the weather was oh, so wonderful. The sun was out and the ocean looked so marvelous. There was a plethora of dolphin and about four whales. The boat's name was "The Christopher" and was very, very huge. It had seating in the front that looked a little like bleachers. I order the tickets online for the 3:00 ride then took my kids to Bubba Gump and the aquarium to help with the wait. I got there about an hour early and was almost first in line. The whole experience has changed my life and my kid's lives forever.
A 3 hour Nightmare...A 3 hour Nightmare.
Of course I was suspicious when all tickets were non-refundable. Sure enough, they over-booked the whale watching cruise, and there were not enough seats for the 2 and a half hour cruise over really choppy water, which NEVER STOPS! I pictured sitting on a deck and leisurely perusing the ocean for whales. There were not enough seats inside or outside. People were huddled with their children on the dirty floor inside, and we were told we couldn't stand by the rail or in stairways on the front deck. It didn't take long for most of the patrons to become nauseous and miserable. We were told later in the cruise not to get sick in the toilets, but try for one of the few trash cans provided. You try to cheer up your kids but you realize you're never going to slow to a comfortable stop in the boat's pace, you're probably not going to see whales, and there's nothing to do for the two hours remaining. At least at the one highlight, when we saw some dolphins, our window looking out wasn't the one that had someone's lunch all over it from above like the one across.
If you really insist on going I recommend the following; Find out the weather before buying your non-refundable tickets. Get there early enough to ensure a seat. Take a book, movie, magazine or something to distract yourself or kids when it all goes south. And bring your own barf-bag.
I would recommend the near-by aquarium or maybe even this company's 45 minute tour might be less objectionable.
