bad service, good late night asian cafe food, bad food, bad crowd, good stuffed mushrooms, juicy lamb chops, awesome night service

Chances are, if you're a consistent SGV purveyor, you'll bump into someone you know at JJ. Great baked bolognese pasta. Open until 4 am, post-clubbing crowd rejoice.

Best Seafood fried rice, ever!.
I have to admit that I haven't tried the majority of the menu items, simply because I've come across a few dishes that are simply too tasty to pass up everytime I go.
For example, the seafood and smelt roe fried rice is quite simply the best fried rice I've ever had, and all of my friends who have tried it have fallen in love with it. The lamb chops with scallion sauce are juicy and succulent and definitely a treat as well. If you're looking for a more comforting meal, try one of the baked dishes, such as the mushroom and clam baked rice/pasta. It's generously peppered with chunks of clams here and there and topped off with a layer of melted cheese... mm-mm! For dessert, try the vanilla souffle. Unlike traditional souffles that tend to be excessively rich and decadent, J J Cafe's souffle is a light and airy affair, lightly sweetened by a sprinkling of powdered sugar on the top, definitely the perfect end to a filling meal!
One of the best HK Style Cafes in the 626. Open from 7AM-4AM, this place is for the late-night crowd. The menu is quite large and it'll take you months to go through it all! Selections range from Cafe-style seafood, steaks, lamb to classic chinese favorites. The night service is awesome! I've actually had a glass taken from my hand for a refill (it was only 1/2 empty!!). The food itself is pretty darn good! I've tried over 50 dishes and I've only disliked 2 of them. The lunch, early dinner and late night specials are a very great value!
Happen to be in the neighborhood.. Had lunch/dinner here once or twice in awhile, it's okay for the money spent. It's great if you're out late with a crowd. Not the choice for top late night cafes, there are many around if you're geared more towards the food.
Not Worth The Few Bucks. There are a lot of "cafes" around the Montery Park area and sadly this cafe is one of the least favorable one. Most can argue that this restaurant is great for late night munchies, but I beg to differ. The late hours is the reason why many flock to it but they open at 4 p.m. which doesn't make it a 24 hour joint, but just another restaurant operating different hours. The meals low by any standards. The dishes are cheap, making it a good thing for a college student like me, but the quality reflects such low value. It just seems like another plain "cafe." One final note: don't order the "Vegetable with Egg Salad." It's just four slices of tomatoe with iceburg lettce. And to top this dish off, you'd guess it - sliced hard boiled eggs dressed with your grocery dressings. Bon apetite.
Late night decent meals!. I recommend this place to people who want to have some good late night asian cafe food but don't want to bother with the other late night asian cafes that the bad crowd hang at. I love eating the Japanese rice here, try it! The stuffed mushrooms are good too. If you got a big crowd, order a bunch of things and share, most everything that people frequently order cost around 5-7 bucks. Since you're already up late (this place closes at 4am) try a spanish coffee, it's coffee with a whole scoop of icecream in it! These fares aren't much different then the other asian cafes, I just think the food's good, and the crowd's better. Plus they have tv's there showing Chinese movies and concerts. Beats those high salt and fatty meals at Denny's and Norms hands down any day. Yum, try their spicy salt wings.
