Great Happy Hours with Different Crowds Daily!!.
It has a time for everyone. Everyday there is something special and because of that each day draws a different crowd. Aside from the regulars, the crowd can range from 70 year old lunch or dinner to college nights to weekend sports.
My best suggestion is to go to panama joes on varying days to see the different people and maybe make one night your PJs night!
Disappointment. We have been looking for local cantina style bars in the Long Beach area. We tried four different margaritas, traditional and house specialties, all were terrible. Restaurant and bar have good curb appeal but not good follow through inside. Food was not well seasoned. Sadly, Acapulco's offers better food and drinks. Too bad.
decent food. hilarious night life.
food is decent. think el torito meets acapulco. get the specials if they look good to you.
o.k. the bar scene. it is one of the most pathetic but hilarious things you will ever see. an attractive girl walks into the bar. nothing out of the ordinary right. what is out of the ordinary are the 20 sets of 50-60 year old men starring her down. the bar is comprised of 21yr to 70yr old individuals. go for the atomosphere if you can stomach it. drinks are pricy but so is everywhere on 2nd street. if you're an attractive girl steer clear unless you enjoy wealthy, overly conceited, older, mid-life crisis men hitting on you. oh and if you're a young male looking to hook up with a sugar-momma then you're in for a treat. fun place actually if you go with a group but get there kind of early. the place gets packed friday and saturday nights. go for the happy hour m-th. great bar food and good prices on domestic and well-drinks. oh and don't forget about the bands. you will laugh your *** off at times. and if the older crowd gets liquored up enough you may get a little "so you think you can dance" dance off. if you're local go, if you're not then don't waste your time
