A terrible experience, and a waste of money

by guideX

My first experience, I went to Lens Crafters and needed glasses, so bought a pair, the perscription was wrong, and in the meantime I found a pair of frames which matched my old Lenses, so I returned the incorrect pair to Lens Crafters, and bought the matching frame for my old 5 year old Lenses (which I could see better out of). I only wish I could get my money back for the exam.

Then I was looking for a Pearl Vision to take my girlfriend to, and I found one, went there, and what do you know, it's a Lens Crafters now. So I figured how could they do wrong with Contacts so I bought her some using her prescription from where she bought them last, and she got home with them, and she can't see. Now that we have spent a little under $200 on that, we can now not return them.

Lesson here: Lens Crafters scks the big one

I could have gone back to have my exam again, but I was also not happy with Lens Crafters selection of frames so what could I do? Most I can do is call and yell at them and complain on places like here.

  • Pros: Store was clean
  • Cons: We can't see

Don't go here

by JBinLA

I went for a contact lens exam and got terrible service twice. (You have to come back for a f/u visit). Don't ever go here.

The first day, I had to wait 1.5 hrs past my appt time. Sometimes that happens, of course, and while the Suma Tiriveedhi, the Optometrist, was indifferent, the woman at the counter apologized. Ok, I'm not happy but I can deal with it.

Today was my follow up exam. Again over an hour wait. I realized that the first time wasn't a fluke, this is just the way they run their business.

My prescription had to be adjusted up because the first time was too low. This means another visit, of course, and probably more wasting of my time. To top it off, they didn't have enough lenses to last until the next time I could come in. And this time Suma the Optometrist was just rude.

I spoke to the General Manager, Susan Meadows, and asked for a refund for the exam price. At first she gave me a hard time, then only gave me a partial refund.

Don't go here.

  • Pros: Large parking lot
  • Cons: Long wait, poor service

New and Improved

by Docepas

I've used this same store just this Summer, and had a really nice experience. I've used the one in Glendale before, but I thought this location was more convenient. The customer service was great. They DO have a public bathroom, because I've used it. I'd like to see this store given a chance based on how it's running now, not a year ago. Unfortunately, it wasn't the store's fault that one customer waited until the last minute to do something about their contacts. I've been a contact lens wearer for almost 30 years and I know to schedule replacements when I'm down to a month's supply or less.- no one week. At any rate, this year, I ordered prescription sunglasses for the first time, and they were really great with the fitting, and the 30 day exchange period. Today, I'm going in again to get my second choice of glasses, because the first ones didn't quite work. In the meantime, they replaced my nosepads at no extra cost, just make it more comfortable until my new ones came in. BTW - when they answer the phone, they always ask if you'd like to make an appointment.

  • Pros: Parking, plenty of waiting area, great service reps
  • Cons: Located on confusing corner of Olive, Verdugo and Victory place
