more entertaining nonasian chef, great food, great service, recommend fried rice, big group outting, great drinks, recommend shrimp dishes
Mildly Entertaining just ok food. This place was just ok for me. We were a party of 10 so we got our own table. If you are a smaller group be prepared to share a table. Our non-asian chef was only mildly entertaining and the food was just ok to somewhat bland. Having said that, it was an easy way to entertain some out of town guests. I have been to other restaurants in this chain and had more entertaining chefs so I guess that part is just luck of the draw.
Great interactive dinner!. Geat place to get lunch/dinner! I go here every year for my birthday so I can celebrate it with my friends and family. They have fresh fish and the best fried rice in the world! The service is great and the chefs make the meal a really enjoyable experience! Great for people of all ages!
Knife-wielding chefs put on a show at this communal Japanese grill..
In Short
Benihana started out as a tiny four-table restaurant in New York City's theater district before becoming an international chain. Diners sit around large tables where chefs ostentatiously chop, slice, stir-fry and grill. Entree options are simple--shrimp, chicken, steak and scallops--and preparation is uniform. Every entree comes with a similar stock of sides: rice, onion soup, shrimp appetizer, iceberg lettuce drizzled with dressing, sauteed vegetables and green tea.
Fun and entertaining, average tasting food, pricey. This place is a lot of fun. You order your food and they cooked it in front of you, they entertain you with a bit of tricks while cooking your food. Some of the dishes are good, while others are mediocre. What your paying for mostly is the entertainment. However not all of the chefs are good, the 1st time we went there we had a fun and talkative chef. The 2nd time we got a very nice and friendly chef, however he was somewhat shy and very quiet. I would recommend their fried rice and shrimp dishes. The steak taste somewhat bland and the meat tough. The service is good, usually they assign a server who constantly checks on your table. It is somewhat family style restaurant, people are seated in a big rectangular table. You do have to share table with other guests/patrons. This place gets very crowded especially during weekends, unfortunately reservations are not available. Parking is available across the restaurant for $3.00, Valet is also available $7.00, with validation from Benihana you get $1.00 off.
Awesome food and terrific atmosphere!. My buddy and I come here alot after work and LOVE it! Their drinks are great and their sushi is suprisingly good. I really love their Benihana Special which is their steak and lobster combo. It's neat to be seated with a larger group of strangers so that you can meet new people as you share your dining experiences. There's parking lot that you can get 3 hours' validation from if you eat here.
Fun place to go with friends. A great place to go with a group of people. A lot of families so not the most romantic placein the world. Food is always good and the little show the chefs put on is mildly entertaining as well...
Fun around the table. If you want a fun place to go with friends or family, this is the place. The food is good, the chef's are entertaining and it is a fun atmosphere.
good stuff.
Great for both a first date or big group outting. It's just lot's of fun. Our waiter was very entertaining and the food was great.
*Be warned - It's a little on the pricey side but worth every penny.
not the best place.....
If you know this restaurant chain.
Go to the one in City of Industry.
They are more creative and have a more lively crowd.
The sushi is sub-standard, especially the fresh water eel.
