If you want to drop down and get your eagle on (girl) this is the place to do it. Admission for The Hump, the Mexican Village's (often 90s heavy) dance party, which takes place every Wednesday, is totally free. Margaritas are $3 a pop so spend the money you save on a cab home.
Vegetarians! Margaritas! – Best margaritas I have ever had. Are you craving a margarita? Go to the Mexican Village. I always get the house margaritas on the rocks with salt...then I have 3 more ;). Also, my husband is a vegetarian and he has a nice selection to choose from. The veggie fajitas are some of the best food I have ever eaten. One bite and your hooked. Also, the wait staff is so wonderful. Coco is a co-owner and he always welcomes me with a kiss on the cheek and a free homemade tequila shot. :)
THE Primo mexican spot! – MV is absolutely possitively one of my all time faves!!!! This place boasts and impressive menu and a WONDERFUL service staff, everytime I go there I am greeted with a smile and a cheerful hello. I am a vegetarian and they are always so nice about accomdating my diet. For other herbivores, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do yourself a favor and have the veggie fajitas. These are the best in LA. . Period. And while you're there, have yourself a nice cadillac Margarita, the specialty of the house. Trust me, that's all you'll need :) Bon appetite!
Chile Relleno – The chile relleno is a must at the Mexican Village. It is always fresh. This dish has a sneaky chili flavor that sneeks up on you before you know it. I often judge a Mexican restaurant by its chili relleno. The Mexican Village has one of the best in town.
Nothing to speacial. – I was looking for something spicy and jummy. Service was OK. Ambience was Blahh. Good Price. I really like gyenari in culver city better, nice spice food. i id rather recommend GYENARI.
Editorial Review – Authentic Los Angeles Mexican restaurant featuring daily happy hour, a DJ, dancing and more.
Great Mexican Food, Nice Atmosphere – I found The Mexican Village on Citysearch so my husband and I decided to give it a try. The mexican food was amaxzing and the staff was really nice. Try the guacamole, it's to die for. We also had fajitas and tacos, which were really good and authentic. The Mexican Village is a great place!
Great Happy Hour and Nice Staff – Mexican Village's happy hour specials are the best! They give free appetizers but you just have to get there early or else they will run out. Even if you don't come here for happy hour, the food is very good and I always love when the restaurant owner walks around balancing a beer bottle on his head. I've had nothing but good experiences dining at Mexican Village.
Great Mexican food, fun place! – I have been there a few times with co-workers and also with friends and the food is always great. The service has always been very good, staffers treat you as if you were part of the family and the owner always stops by and asks if everything is fine. If you go you gotta have the albondigas soup- they use fresh vegetables and the meat is very tender. It's one of the best I've had. The restaurant has a very nice selection of tequila, as a Mexican restaurant should, from the very expensive sipping tequilas (selecion suprema, among others) to the stuff for shooting...On the weekends there is dancing and a DJ who plays everything from salsa to rock en espanol. I would recommend this place to any one that likes authentic Mexican food and a festive atmosphere at a very reasonable price.
nice place, but really rude – i went to the mexican village w/ my bf for their happy hour drink specials. our waiter talked about us in spanish thinking that i didn't understand him, but too bad i did. happy hour is until 8, but they took the placemats out from under us much earlier. i didn't really feel welcomed while i was there and i don't intend to go back.
