nice shrimp tacos, great food, only recommend taco place, reasonable price, yummy experience, very friendly staff, huge burritos
Best Taco In Town.
Whether you have a sudden craving for a mexican food or not, you must go check and try the Sky's Gourmet Taco. The food are very delicious and you can really taste the freshness of every ingredient in your food.
The must trys are: turkey quesadilla, beef burrito, veggie tacos and the pineapple cheesecake.
The serving is very hearty and the price is so reasonable. Trust me, it's worth your every penny.
I thought the 'sassy sauce' was delicious.. I tried the tofo tacos and loved the flavor of the sassy sauce. It was very satisfying. It has a sweetness to it that combined really well with the spicy. It is unique but I thought delicious. Also the staff was very friendly with me. I plan on going back to Sky's Tacos often.
The best tacos in L.A.!. A friend recommended this place because she knows I love tacos and seafood. Well I was not disappointed. Sky's has the best shrimp and fish tacos I have every had. They were so good, I spent $30 and I would never do that for a taco. They were just that good. The Sorrel Lemonade was also delicious. I wish they had a location in the South Bay area because driving to L.A. thru traffic is a killer! If you are in the area, definitely try this place. Not sure about anything else on the menu but the tacos will have you craving for more. Don't expect to eat just one. And they don't come cheap. These bad boys are $3.75 a piece and $4.75 for Lobster tacos. But they do an excellent job of giving you your money's worth. The tacos are nice and hearty.
Straight Garbage!.
My girlfriend and I decided to venture out for a new little taco place. There are so many small traditional Mexican restaurants in L.A. , we wanted to find something a little trendy, but quaint. Through our search online we discovered Sky's Taco. As with any new place, reviews are important. Since there was only one bad review, we figured to try it out for ourselves...
Well, to say the least this place was disgusting. From the moment we entered, the customer service was horrible. Not friendly or inviting. Nevertheless, we were there primarily for the tacos. We ordered the Lobster, the Mahi, and the Steak taco, some chips, and a couple of lemonades (since we heard the fresh lemonade is delicious). The chips were stale, the tacos were doused with sauce which made the tacos unbearable to eat. The lemonade, in my opinion, was mixed with just sugar and packet lemonade mix. Nothing was fresh by any means! We both left this place unsatisfied and disgusted.
Lazy, unfriendly service and poor quality food is the highlight of this place. I would only recommend this place if you are a dog or on the verge of committing suicide. I would prefer eating my own feces before coming here again...
Great tacos with soul. Their tacos are amazing. Especially the Cajun Crawfish Taco (which is for a limited time). It's something about their sauce that makes it great. And I love the fact that they don't put beans in there. The tacos are not your average Mexican taco or like the tacos you'll find in the fast-food chains. They are authentic tacos with an authentic twist - they have an addition of Southern soul. The only thing I did not enjoy on their menu was their cheese quesadillas because it was rather dry. But, don't let this discourage you from trying it. Their prices are reasonable, about $3.00 a taco. Their lemonade is homemade and it tastes like so. However, the place is very small. Barely big enough to fit 20 people, including the outside patio though I've never run into any problems trying to get in before. Their servers are the cooks - wonderful ladies who are very warm and inviting and service is relatively quick. In short, this place ranks on my top ten. Tacos that everyone should at least try.
Editorial Review. Intimate taco shack caters to vegetarians and taco-lovers alike with a cheap menu of Mexican favorites.
Damn fine eats. This place is really cute. Its an almost-gormet little-taqueria-that-could. Food is great, and the staff is friendly. Try the turkey burrito and lemonade. mmmmmmmmmm
DISGUSTING! Disregard other reviews!!! MAJOR disappointment.
ok I was looking around Citysearch and happened upon the reviews for Sky's Taco. The three reviews made it sound fantastic! So I drove over there to find a shady hole in the wall (which sometimes means great food comes out of there, but not in this case) then you have to order through this tiny window to a super grumpy girl. then I get the food, and it's disgusting. I was not able to eat it. they put this NASTY sweet marinara-type sauce ALL OVER the tacos and burritos, I couldn't even pick around it! They used the WORST meat of the chicken... ALL DARK MEAT that didn't even look like it was from a chicken... And even though i was the only customer, it still took over 20 minutes to make myu food, and from looking at it, I can't comprehend how! Anyhow, everything about this experience was so horrible. and the $$$ was higher than some other places where the food is a million times better! (2 tacos and 2 burritos for $20... kiss my @$$!) I cannot even describe how much I want to save you all from this experience....blech.
Go to Poquito Mas... that's some great food... or Don Antonios... oh man I have so many good ones to tell you but I am blanking right now...
Anyhow, stay away from Sky's.
Tasty tacos and burritos. I have tried several places in Los Angeles trying to find the perfect tacos. I've tried Tito's and they stink. El Tepeyac wasn't bad (they have huge burritos) but the flavor wasn't all there. Sky's is the front runner so far. Everything that I have had here tastes awesome and is freshly made. My only minor complaints are that it sometimes takes a while to get the food (I have called ahead, come by 20 minutes later and still not found my food ready) and that is a little pricy for a hole-in-the-wall. That said, my complaints fly out the window once I take a bite.
head in the clouds. what a yummy & cheap experience...delicious open-faced shrimp burrito w/ only the freshest ingredients & their special taco-y sauce...homemade lemonade sealed the deal...BUT the caramel cheesecake was the perfect cherry on top--it was gooey & sinful & so tasty--2 of us for just $20 and we left satisfied & FULL!
