Best Yoga Studio in CA!!! – I have been practicing yoga for five years now. My first class was with Naader Shagagi, owner and master yogi at Yoga Kingdom Sanctuary. Thanks to Naader Shagagi, the practice of yoga has been life-changing. It has cured me of migraines, lower back pain, and made me MUCH more able to cope with life's stresses. Naader is a divinely inspired teacher - I attend his classes whenever possible because, not only do I get a good practice, the wisdom he shares with us, that channels through him from the Universal masters, is just as important. I recommend YKS to friends and strangers alike. Naader is the BEST!
More than just in tune with the body – I will be honest. My friends had been attending Yoga Sanctuary classes for five years, I have been resisting for the past three. Each time they talked I heard yoga and thought.. ouch body old.. doesn't bend that way, then the light bulb went on. I began to listen to the messages they were sharing that were given by the instructor during the classes. I finally went to a class. The atmosphere was filled with a deep sense of peace but once the instructor began to walk, assist people in poses, and share his wisdom, the atmosphere became charged with a feeling of renewed tranquility and hope. As the instructor said.. "Be calmy active.. and actively calm.. no one is chasing you" For someone who works fifty plus hours under high pressure, the reminder acted as a beacon of hope. I highly recommend this instructor and this environment as an ideal way to beome more that just in tune with your body.. go to feed your mind and refresh your faith in the path you are walking.
Best Yoga In Town! – I started going to this yoga studio 2 1/2 years ago, and it has completely changed my life. This place offers whole body and mind experience like no other.
The master teacher has choreographed a series of poses called Curative Yoga. The sequence flows in a way that allows maximum flexibility as well as strength. I enjoy the workout, but most importantly I love the way I feel afterwards.
All of the teachers are phenomenal so try any of the classes. It's the best yoga in town!
love it! – Physically, mentally, spiritualy refreshing. Great workout, body relaxes all with the added benefit of positive affirmations. Something we all need in this sometimes hectic negative world. It is true sanctuary to get away and remember the true beauty that in all of us. Highly recommend. Helps me feel better to take on the world. Love it!
Greatly Disappointed – I've taken classes here on and off over the last 5 years. Often in the past the classes have been very enjoyable. Over the last 3 years the owner seems to be suffering from some kind of problem, very moody, not too yogi like.
He hasn't really been there too often and the space is friendly, but poorly run, and very dirty.
The biggest disappointment is the constant loss of good teachers, they don't stay. The classes are often taught by students in training which can be hit or miss, but we still pay the same!
Looking for a yoga place that's clean with good teachers. Does anybody know of one?
Best class in the world – I travel alot and try to take classes wherever I am in the world aswel as my own practise and found Yoga Kingdom Sanctuary to be welcoming, friendly and professional, absolutely loved the classes ive managed to make while in Pasadena and whenever im asked I would always recommend this place to people of all levels.
Everyone is entitled to there own opinion but the only 2 negative comments I have just read is funny when they talk about ego when you look at their silly names I mean to say grow up! Louise U.K
Great yoga! – I came to YKS for the first time this week and found the teacher and class outstanding. I am looking forward to coming often to such a wonderful/peaceful place.
More like a prison than a sanctuary – I do not recommend this studio at all. Similar to the reasons of the person just before me, this guy is a total scam. I am a teacher and have given adjustments without touching them improperly. This in addition to the "master" teacher's enormous ego makes all of his classes painful to sit through. They become completely boring, if not slightly menacing to sit through. If he's not trying to cop a feel and turning on the charm, he becomes menacing and casts terrible looks your way. Avoid at all costs!!!
definitely not a sanctuary – I have been practicing for a few years and just moved to the area, unfortunately the classes here are lacking in every way. The "master teacher" has the biggest ego of anyone (teacher or not) I have ever met, in fact, his classes (AVOID) are led by his monster ego and his ability to come very close to molesting students and passing it off as correcting their poses. In addition to the very overt creepiness, almost all of the classes are the exact same....they follow a set routine that no one dares stray from....on the schedule the names of the classes will be different, but in fact the "curative yoga" class is the same as "classical hatha" class...which makes no sense. Overall, this was a very disappointing studio, if you're a beginner, it seems as though no one has the knowledge or desire to help you learn, and if you're intermediate or advanced, there is no reason that you would want to do the same exact poses and get touched inappropriately when you could be enhancing your practice somewhere else.
I've visited a lot of studios, this is the best – Naader sometimes says that his classes are church, therapy, and exercise, all rolled into one. He's right. I've been to a number of studios in this area as well as other areas. YKS feels like it's what yoga is really all about: yoga as part of a balanced philosophical/spiritual lifestyle, not just a 3X/week destressing exercise. And I don't mean lifestyle in an over-the-top, New-Agey, disavow-modern-civilization way.
All of the teachers are terrific: some incorporate more or less of the overtly philosophical/spirtual aspects of yoga, but they are all very much emotionally engaged, and all of the classes really feel like moving meditation.
