If you look this place up in the phone book, I believe you will find that this place has closed at this location and re-opened in the downtown section of Burbank.
Horrible BBQ

We were excited to try a new BBQ place and had high hopes for this place. It is in a nice location with shops, coffee shops, and other restaurants. Unfortunately there were very few things about this place that were good. We started with the appetizer sampler which had fried pickles, rib tips and hot links, etc. The platter arrived and looked nothing like what I expected for such a high price. The fried pickles were the best thing on the platter, the BBQ portions were dry and bad cuts of meat. Our table ordered a pulled pork sandwich, a brisket sandwich and the baby back ribs --- they were all horrible. The brisket was dry and had no flavor, the pulled pork was horrible and the sauce was worse, the ribs were tough and dry. We all tried to make our meals better with the BBQ sauce but the sauce selection was worse than the food -- we didn't think THAT would be possible -- Heinz ketchup would have been better on the ribs. If you want a good meal --- DO NOT eat here.
- Pros: location
- Cons: Food
I guess people in Kansas City drink out of jars?????

I just moved to LA and have been spending my time trying to find places I really enjoyed of different types of food.
I found some good italian, some good burgers, and others but had not tried any BBQ yet.
I suppose I should mention that I am from Kansas City. So when I was walking down the street in Burbank (which is the location I visited) I was delighted to see a Kansas City named place.
At the time I saw it I was not hungry so I put it in my memory for a later date.
Today was that day and...well....gross.
The place looks nice enough and is in good location close to others places to shop and what not. The hostess was very kind and when I made some mention of being from KC she asked about the BBQ back home and such.
Then we ordered our drinks and much to our suprise moments later two jars (yes, jars) of Coke were dropped off at our table. I suppose they were trying to be cute but...I was honestly kind of offended.
Then we ordered after looking over the limited menu (which includes pizza and pasta...real authentic) and my girlfriend got the brisket sandwhich (10 bucks) and I got the two combo platter with ribs and brisket(18 bucks)
It arrived quickly (almost too quickly) and didn't look to great but I dug in anyways...gross. Tried some of their signature sauces...grosser. I honestly have a cheap store brand bottle of sauce from ralphs that I would prefer.
The server was fairly polite but not the best....she also did not seem to concerned with how our food was.
Then I paid a total of 40 bucks (after the tip) and left unsatisfied.
I will never eat here again. It was really, really fowl.
- Pros: location i suppose...
- Cons: expensive, not good, no pictures of Charlie Parker among the other artist
