Seattle-based coffee chain lures caffeine addicts with upscale roasts, caramel frappuccinos, shaken iced teas and an extra shot of trendiness..
For many, getting their daily jolt of java has become a daily morning ritual, and the cardboard cup with its infamous green label is the close companion of every coffee aficionado. Busy baristas work seamlessly behind the bar, juggling orders for their strongly-brewed drips and signature hot and cool beverages. While providing a wide selection of coffee specialties, pastries and various coffee related goods, patrons are invited to settle down in comfy armchairs and enjoy their favorite brews amid the chatter of the laidback yet caffeinated crowd.
Never disappoints. While I love to support the small, independent coffehouses somehow I'm never disappointed to walk across the street from my office to this Starbucks. My usual order (nonfat mocha or nonfat latte) are hot, strong, and always hit the spot. I'm not always impressed with the baked goods but to me these aren't the lure. When 3 PM roles around I need a jolt of caffeine to get me through the afternoon lull and Starbucks does the job.
Pay attention because they don't. For some reason this place decided to stop writing your name on your cup. After waiting for 15 minutes to get a replacement frappuccino(which was taken by another patron), I asked to talk to the manager. He apologized (and so did one of the other 6 employees) and then proceeded to get me a cappuccino! I am now in search of a new coffee spot as the next closest Starbucks to me is 1.1 miles.
