Pricey hotel spa falls short on amenities and flair.. The Scene
The serene spa entrance on the fourth floor of the St. Regis Hotel is decorated in luxurious, warm, honey tones that promise a transcendent spa experience, but beware the no-frills locker rooms. Amenities are sparse--bring your own toiletries, there isn't even facial soap or lotion; it feels more like a way station than a private retreat. A tranquil (coed) waiting room with deep couches and hot tea is the best spot for relaxation.

The Services
Besides the requisite facials, massages and pedicures performed in the spacious treatment rooms, the St. Regis offers several unique body treatments to nourish and hydrate the skin. Total Vitamin Body Cocktail begins with a tingly and invigorating menthol-enhanced body scrub. Then a buttery cream is slathered on for a cozy body wrap. The staff is well trained but not exceptional. The real star of this spa is the amazing Babor product line--therapeutic miracle creams and scrubs from Germany.
