Sandwich Counter - Best in Town. This place is great for many reasons. The first is the wine shop. The owner can help you out with anything. Give him price, taste or even the items you happen to be cooking with and he hits every time. But... more importantly, you have to go for the sandwiches. The turkey sandwich is unbeatable and the caprese is a great veggie option. Snag a bag of chips and some olives from the check out register, and you'll come back a thousand times. You just may have to wait 20 minutes to get in and out.

Sandwich from Heaven. I can't write this without desperately craving a sandwich from this place. It is that good. It is the best sandwich in LA if you ask me. Sorry Bay Cities, I love you too. But damn. This is amazing. I always order the same thing. A #3: soppressata salami with manchego cheese, mixed greens, sundried tomato spread, extra virgin olive oil & balsamic vinegar. It is literally perfect: the bread is a dream come true, the salami is a joke, the cheese is light and mild, the lettuce is fresh and crispy and the combination of their ridiculous sundried tomato spread, olive oil and balsamic is heaven in between two pieces of bread. If you live in LA and have never been here, shame on you. But the bright side is you have the best sandwich of your life to look forward to. Go there immediately, get a bottle of wine and two plastic cups (they have them at the front), and sit outside and enjoy perfection in the California sun. Sandwich from heaven, indisputably.
