Editorial Review for Strange Invisible Perfumes – by Jennifer Kim

In Short
This evocative, moody space resembles a hipster bar much more than a typical department store perfume counter. Fancy scents are created with the finest botanicals ingredients, an intricate distillation process and an on-site master perfumer's touch (who also happens to be Jerry Bruckheimer's step-daughter). There are 17 fragrances, with delightful, period names like Narcotic and Fair Verona. Private consultations for pricey custom-blends take place in the modern-looking carriage room.

I just discovered this hidden gem on Abbot Kinney while shopping with my girlfriend the other day. This place is really gorgeous and the sales associates are so helpful. The interior makes you feel like you are in a chic perfumery in Paris - definitely an 'out of LA' experience. I spent over an hour in there and tried out almost every perfume - the perfumes are just amazing by the way, nothing like the department store ones that make your eyes tear and throat dry. These perfumes are supposed to be all natural and made from plants and flowers - you can totally smell them, like you are in a garden or orchard or something. I had several favorites but one that really stood out to me was the Prima Ballerina eau de parfum cos I LOVE rose perfumes and haven't come across anything like this one before! The store also carries other brands of skin & body care, some truly natural and pure stuff. They seem to be real sticklers for purity and fine ingredients. I highly recommend this place to spoil yourself or your loved ones. Or have your boyfriend spoil you! A great place for gifts and feast for the senses! A trip - Be aware about the parking attendants on Abbot Kinney... they are ruthless and will ticket so keep track of your time!

Pros: sales associates are so helpful, gorgeous interior, all natural perfumes

Cons: the parking attendants on Abbot Kinney... they are ruthless
