Pomona >Pomona Valley Mining Co
great food, great view, bad service, loved place, impressive penny, big portions, suggest lobster tail
Don't Let the View Fool You. Went for Sunday Brunch, terrible service. The busboy went to the table next to us (he obviously knew the people at the table) he asked so whats good? He was referring to the food, and then he said This Place Su*$#! I wish I would've known that before. The omlettes and pasta was the only thing good. Everything else wasn't worth the price. Desserts were horrible.
Hands down the Worst - Steer Clear!!!. I grew up in the area and can tell you that this place has a million dollar location with the best views. However, I have been on several occasions and have watched it go downhill. From a very classy joint back in the day with savory steaks and seafood dishes to awful service, restaurant supply warehouse food and a very dilapidated run-down building. Its a shame, but I thought I would give it one last try for Sun brunch this morning, nothing has changed, I will never go back. You want good food, especially Sun brunch, try Orange Hill Restaurant in Orange off of Chapman (55 fwy), hands down best Sun Brunch in SoCal, and the service is superior.
Worst Service and place EVER! JUST AVOID THIS PLACE!. Made reservation for my girlfriends bday at 9 o'clock over the phone, when we got there the waitress told us that they were closed for cleaning because they had no customers!!! I was like WHAT?!.. At least tell the people that had reservation that they might be doing cleaning that day or something! Wasted an hour drive from Riverside to take my gf out to eat for her bday! NEVER GO HERE!
Editorial Review. Mining-themed special occasion restaurant offers sweeping valley views and traditional American favorites, from beer-battered coconut shrimp to top sirloin.
THIS PLACE IS WORTHLESS !!!!. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. IT TOOK FOREVER TO GET SEATED EVEN WITH RESERVATIONS, FOOD SUCKED AND COST WAY TO MUCH. THE PEOPLE WHO WORK AND DINE THERE LOOK LIKE A BUNCH OF CHOLOS AND HOODRATS !!!!
SIZZLER'S WITH A VIEW......DONT GO. this place was nothing but long waits, bad food ,and snotty and poor service. They try to pass themselves off as a high class restaurant with expensive prices but in reality its just a Sizzlers with a view........DONT GO
LONG WAITS, BAD SERVICE, OVER PRICED LOUSY FOOD.
The first time I went here I had made a reservation for 9pm. We got there at 9 and were told that we'd have to wait for the next table. We waited in there lounge and odered drinks. The well drinks were $5 and tiny. I had to ask the hostess 3 times "when would we be seated?" We were finally seated an hour later. At our table we never saw our waitress. We had to ask a bus boy to find her , finally 10 minutes later a person who wasnt our waitress brought us some water and took our order. I got the king crab legs($30) which arrived almost frozen in places....disgusting and over priced. We filled up on the salad bar which was not even comprable to Sizzler's salad bar. And we left.
We figured that we would try the place one more time that maybe the first time was a fluke. This time we made a reservation for 8pm. We arrived and this time we only had to wait 20 min to be seated. While we waited we asked the waitress for water, she said that they were "out of glasses" but she could sell me a bottled water......horrible. When seated we again had to wait a long time before anyone even asked us our drink orders. So we just got up and went to the salad bar. The salad bar was missing all kinds of common item (no bacon bits, no shredded cheese, no mushrooms, etc) My girlfriend ordered the New York Steak ($26)medium done. It came charred and un edible. We sent it back and the second steak was rare to the point of almost being raw. I ordered the shrimp scampi ($23) which consisted on 6 small shrimp in a creamy butter sauce, mash potatoes , and vegetables.....again horrible.
I vow NEVER to go back. We called the manager the next day and he gave us no refund but only the address to send a letter..... I advise you to save your time and money and go to Red Lobster or Sizzler because this place is on a lower level.......
Over Rated!!!. Only been there once, but my girlfriend and I thought the food was very poor. Either we hit a bad night, or other people don't have good taste. My girlfriend is extremely picky, so when she doesn't like something then I don't think much of it, but when we both don't like it, then there is something wrong. Yes, great view, hoping to be more like Castaway in Burbank, but far from it.
Great Place to dine. This is one of my favorite restaurants ever. The food is great, the service is impeccible, and the view is fantastic. A great place to take a date or to impress your parents. A must see!
Impressive and worth every penny.. Inland Valley's most terrific spot to make an impression on either a first date or to show the parents you have some taste. The menu is on the high side, dishes range from about $15- $25 but the quality, taste and ambiance make it well worth it. I suggest the lobster tail for dinner. The meat is always tender and topped with butter and a sprinkle of Hungarian paprika, pure melt-in-the-mouth YUM! The view of the night skyline is spectacular and little hard to believe that your looking down on Pomona but its a great setting that makes the food taste even better. Another must try is the Sunday brunch. Expect some long lines in front of the buffets but I promise the food is terrific and is also worth the $20 plate, unless your a vegetarian, this is a meat and seafood lovers affair.
