In Short
This simple stand caters to industry workers by day, bar hoppers by night. A limited menu consists of five franks: the original with traditional toppings; a Guinness-based chili dog; a cheddar dog; a bacon-cheddar dog; a flour tortilla-wrapped quesadilla dog; and the garlic-lover's dog on toasted bread. French fries, a mix of strips and chips, come with aioli sauce, while hand-squeezed lemonade can be mixed with iced tea. Egg buns and breakfast burritos are morning-time options.

Skooby's hotdogs are nothing to write home about. It seems as if that is exactly what they intend for you to do after eating there. Located in the tourist district off Hollywood Blvd, this little dog stand serves up merely a decent dog to toursits wandering up down the star imbeded walk of fame. The garlic fries are soggy yet nicely drenched in garlic. The dogs themselves are on the small side for the price and are typical in every respect. Pinks or Carney's or Taste Chicago (If u want to make the drive) are the better choices. Parking can also be a problem at times. IF you are in the hood and feel like a hotdog fix Skooby's will fit the bill, but if you are looking for a truly delicious dog go elsewhere.

I disovered Skooby's 2 years ago and I have to say that the fries and garlic/roasted pepper mayo dipping sauce is heavenly! The hotdogs are very good, better then Pink's that is for sure! But the fries and lemonade are what keep me from coming back when I get a craving for junk! Yum:)

This is one of the best spots in L.A. for a quick cheap bite. The fries are out of this world. If hot dogs aren't your thing, just go and have these fries. Forget Jar or In-n-Out; these fries are king. The slightly toasted hot dog buns always taste like they were just baked. The homemade lemonade compliments it all perfectly. The employees (mostly attractive young local rock scenesters) are very friendly. However, do not expect fast-food speed as the process of transforming raw fresh potatoes into amazing fries right before your eyes requires several steps. Seating is mainly at tables outdoors on the sidewalk. The location is very busy with all varieties of Hollywood foot traffic. The prim BMW folk will probably feel uneasy. The blaring music is mostly indie/punk rock, which I happen to love, but my parents would probably hate.
