BEST PLACE IN LB! – I have been going to LB for years to find fun places and this one warrented a review. If you like a place with a view then look no further. It's at the top of the Breakers hotel and has the best view on LB! You have to go in the evening and watch the sunset.
Besides the great view there is live music, dancing, good martinis, a GREAT wine list, delicious food and impecible service.
Try the Gnocchi!
Outstanding – This place is amazing, after going there just once i am hooked. The food is outstanding, the service cant be beat, the view is breath taking. The rooftop bar UP loubge is the most fun ive had in a long time. Unbelievable DJ, Great Drink specials. Heard it was expensive, not true. Drinks are well worth it. Menu is well rounded a, Plus tapas in UP lounge (rooftop). Very friendly, top notch. Highly recommend it.
LOVED IT! – What a great place to relax and get a great steak. Will be back soon!
WOW! – I'll make this short and sweet:LOVED THE VIEWS, LOVE THE SERVICE, LOVE THE FOOD! While your there check out the upstairs bar, best tapas and drinks I've ever had.
Consistent Every Time! – I just read what the previous reviewer had to say....I have been to The Sky Room now on a number of occasions and have always had a consistently great experience. Perhaps the previous reviewer had it bad because it was Valentine's Day, a notoriously tough day for even the best of restaurants. I would suggest when you go to dine there, ask for either Marty or Jeffrey. These two are the best waiters in the business. Marty is personable and knowledgeable, and makes you feel like family. Jeffrey is smooth and seamless, and his service is impeccable. You will want for nothing, I assure you. I will only make reservations if one of these two gentleman are going to wait on me.
While the food may not be the best in Southern California, the service more than makes up for it - and the view? Who can beat those views? I highly suggest going to the roof top bar and sipping a Grey Goose Martini. It doesn't get any better!
Horrible Valetine dinner experience and customer service please also read update – According to advertisement 4-course dinner included box of chocolates and rose. Well I never received the box and the rose was taken from another table who customers just vacated by waitress. Asked to leave upon finishing dinner while enjoying the band (which started 30 min late) because according to the manager "charlie" they over booked the night and they needed the tables. However other older couples never were apporach only my husband and i and another younger looking couple. Horribe experience would never eat here again or recommend this establishment unless you want to be treat with rudeness, unprofessialism and poor customer service. Spent over $250 dollars had ruined evenning by whole experience.
I was contacted by general manager today of the sky room regarding my exp. listed above. He was very professional in his letter and stated he was new GM since 02/09. I am very pleased with his fast respond and are going to try the sky room again in future once he does some house cleanning with his staff. Hopefully the sky room will improve under his management.
Great evening-Highly recommened! – Last Saturday night, my husband and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary at The Sky Room. We had a fabulous time, the food was amazing, service was impeccable, and the music was fantastic. We will have lifelong memories about that evening and I would highly recommend The Sky Room for any special occasion.
Worst Experiance Ever: Below is a letter that I wrote to the Sky Room after an evening there. – I am writing today to share my experience while I attended a wedding reception at your facility. I would first like to compliment the staff that worked the reception. They were fantastic, providing everything we needed and were extremely polite. However, there was one individual which soured a portion of my evening, so much so that I felt compelled to write this letter. His name was Charlie. This gentlemen was extremely rude to me and several others in my party when several of us attempted to visit the Sky Bar upstairs.
I would like to make it clear that we all understood that the Sky Bar was not included in the wedding package and that it was a completely reasonable expectation for us to purchase drinks if we chose to lounge or smoke there, but this gentlemen was out of line with his attitude. As oppose to asking us politely if we could purchase some drinks to use that area he "demanded" it (although we never objected to buying any drinks in the first place). At this point my party purchased two rounds of drinks for everyone and several more were purchased individually (I purchased several myself for others, as I do not drink) and even still this man was rude.
As the evening continued many others had more than a few words to say about Charlie, but I tried to see things from his point of view, although I don't think he had to be offensive as he was. However he lost the last of my respect when, while I was getting ready to leave and gathering the people I was driving home, he insinuated that I was lying to him about my intentions to look for others in my party upstairs. He insisted that I was trying to sneak a cigarette. A lack of tact or manners is one thing, but to call a paying guest a liar is intolerable.
I should hope that you take this letter into consideration when reviewing your relationship with this employee, because The Sky Room has now lost my business as well as any from my friends, relatives, or business clients.
we had an amazing time at the sky room. it was one of the best fine dining experiences I have had. I do not know what these other reviews are talking about, my guess is they are disgruntled former employees? I highly recommend the sky room. there is nothing like it. the food, the view, the services are top notch. if you want a really romantic evening, this is the place!
Run dont walk away from this place – Me and my husbad went the the Sky Room on a Tuesday night for 8:30 reservations. We did not get seated until almost 9:30 and maybe it was because there were 6 of us.....The food is very expensive!!! My mouth dropped as I saw the menu..2 lobster tails are $95 and that comes with no sides....Lucky they had a special that night which was surf & turf for $88 and it came with potatoes & a vegie....I can say the lobster was really good & the filet I got was awful....While we were waiting for our table we told the bartender we need a drink if we were going to have to wait so long and he gave us a bottle of champagne for free so at least they TRY to accomadte people...I just would not go there again...Oh and if you have 5 or more people they charge 20% gratuity to your bill...So for 2 surf and turfs & one drink each for me and my husband our portion of the bill came out to $250....NICE!
