Not impressed

I was really looking forward to this package deal 1.5 hour relaxation massage then a salt glo treatment. well the massage was mediocre, they did not touch my feet or hands and only 2 minutes on my neck (all of which I said were the trouble spots), then the salt glo was nice fragrance but in the same bed, I had to turn over and lay on the salt while they did the other side then get up put on flip flops and a robe walk down the hall to the bathroom use a shower with NO hot water to rinse off, there was no where to sit, change or get dressed, no lotion nothing to spruce up afterwards. Really strange experience, then they charged me 10$ more than they quoted me. I did not tip and will not be back.

You get what you pay for

I was very excited to try this spa. A few friends recommended it and I really wanted to like it. I asked the massusse to focus on my arms and she spend very little time there. She focused on my back for over half the massage even though I requested she move on. She chewed gum the entire time making it almost impossible for me to relax. She spent an unnecessary amount of time pushing pressure points in my neck. This was the worst massage I have ever had and I've had lots of them. My friends want me to give it another try, but I can't bring myself to spend $60 when I could spend 20 more and get a real massage. I will never go back for any of their services.

Great Spa Massages; Serenity & Less Chatter

live in Long Beach. The spa is a good facility and the location is excellent. I attend the spa about once a month. The receptionists are very friendly and professional. The music is generally very soothing and I have had good experiences with most of the massage therapists. However, my one complaint has to do with one of the therapists named L_z. She tends to be chatty and I have recognized her voice at times from the hallway and from an adjoining room. I find it very distracting when I come for a quiet experience. I look forward to more massages in the future, more serene in nature.

Pros: great music, clean facility and very good therapists

Cons: Retain a quiet, serene atmosphere

Don't go here for waxing!!!

I had my very first wax experience at Mr. and Mrs. Day Spa with Priscilla and I was not at all satisfied. I was going to Hawaii and didn't want to have to shave while I was there so decided to splurge and spend $75 for a complete leg and bikini wax. The experience itself was pleasant enough, and Priscilla made me feel very comfortable. However, when I got home I noticed quite a few patches of hair that she had completely missed (I couldn't tell with the lighting at the spa), and spent over an hour plucking out most of these. Then, about 3 days later, I started having a lot of hair growing back on my thighs and bikini area, and ended up having to shave for most of my trip anyways! I think when she waxed she may have broken the hair off instead of pulling it out at the root. I was very disappointed and annoyed about having spent so much money on something that didn't work, so I called the spa when I got back from my trip and spoke with the manager, Katie. I explained the situation to her and she basically told me it was normal that the hair grew back so quickly since it was my first wax. I told her that Priscilla had told me that I shouldn't have to shave for at least 2 weeks, and that I've had friends whose first wax job lasted them a lot longer, like 2-3 weeks, but Katie didn't offer me any kind of refund or complimentary service as compensation, just again said it was normal. I am very unsatisfied with the wax I got and how the manager handled it, and I will never go back to this spa for any kind of service.

average massage

Got a massage here and it was very average.Like my experiences with most massage therapists, they asked me where I had tension and then just did their massage routine, not concentrating where I asked them to. It was fine though, I was relaxed, but my shoulders still ached with tension when I left. Maybe I'll try a facial next time...
