Best Italian in LA

I live in Little Tokyo and used to pass by Capperi everyday walking my dogs. I assumed the place was not good because I never saw many patrons. Little did I know it was in fact a hidden gem. Then, a friend recommended Capperi and so I thought I would give it a try despite staying skeptical. WAS I EVER WRONG!!!! Capperi is an amazing restaurant that serves up the best Italian I've had in the city. Their pizzas are simply amazing! And let's not talk about their homemade tiramisu! Drool......

Not only is the food great in an absolute sense, it is fabulous in a relative sense. You will not get a better value for your dollar elsewhere. And in terms of service, I have always had a great experience.

I have never bothered to log on to Citysearch to rave about a restaurant before but felt compelled to come here and tell everyone how great the food is there. Don't waste your time going to Micheangelo's in Silverlake, you're just going to waste time waiting for mediocre Italian. If you try your luck at Capperi's, you'll never have to wait in line, and you will not be disappointed with the great fare. Do it before this awesome local institution is discovered! Take it from a person who is normally too passive and lazy to compliment those that deserve it. The fact that I've logged on here just to tell you how great Capperi is should pique your interest enough to give Capperi a try.

Excellent Food

Capperi Ristorante is located on the south side of Second Street, between Los Angeles Street and San Pedro in downtown, Los Angeles. There is no parking. I normally park in the Japanese Village Plaza parking. The entrance is located on Central Avenue between 1st and 2nd Street.

I'm not a big fan of Italian food, but I'm an organizer of a investors group and we've had several meetings at the Capperi Ristorante. The food is nothing short of being excellent. I enjoy the caprese and the calamari. I've had the pizza as well, and it's fabulous. Jeff, the server, is courteous and prompt, so is Julia. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I have a friend who loves Italian food, and we've dined at various Italian restaurants throughout the States, including one in Little Italy (New York). I would have to say that Capperi serves the best Italian food I've tasted.

Yummy Italian place Downtown

The service is wonderful, the homemade sangria is delicious and the liguine pescatore is 1st rate! The friends I was with had the risotto smerelda, the linguine with clams and the ravioli with spinach and mushrooms. Everything was fresh and delicious. The calamari fritte as a app was so light and the melenzana (rolled and stuffed eggplant) was outta this world. Totally inexpensive too! Can't wait to go back. Who would have guessed---a great Italian place in Little Tokoyo!!
