Totally Avoid – We went to this place when it first opened. It was good. As time has passed, this place has deteriorated into a place I would not return to. On our last 2 visits here is the deal:
The beer battered fish and chips have lost ALL of their unique flavor. Actually, they've lost ALL their flavor, period The scallops were as tough as rubber. The panko shrimp was very heavy and flavorless. The Salmon was dry and tough. The only thing worth eating is the bread, the garden salad and the Lamb, which is now WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!
This place makes me really appriciate Black Angus a lot more than I used to. I will never go back to this place.
Best Seafood? – This restaurant used to be good. I have eaten many dishes and they all tasted boring and lousy. I don't like to waste food so I always take leftovers home. But I did not want to at this restaurants. The only thing that is good is the steamed clams. The oyster bar is nothing to brave about. The service was horrible the night I was there last. I had to ask my server a few times for the same item, and never got it. I had to get someone else. Service was so slow.
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors – Waterfront fish house chain with patio and oyster bar prints daily menu and specializes in mesquite-charbroiled seafood, chowders.
great seafood and staff – i love this place--it is always sunny. ive been here for holidays and i always have a good time here with my family. friendly staff, and delicious food. i like to get the eggs benedict and fish and chips.
im not sure if they still do it, but they use to have this great brunch buffet. after we eat, its always nice to take a walk along the marina.
Awful Food. – This place leaves much to be desired. I went here with my family and what assaults you first is the tsunami of cheesy music, circa 1984, blaring from the speakers. I'm not kidding when I say "Thriller" was on the playlist. We were seated at one of the tables next to the marina, which would have afforded a nice view had it not been for the sun's glare burning holes in the retinas of the two people facing the windows. Even with the sunshades down, the glare was blinding and squinting through your meal is not a "spectacular view". We ordered some calamari, which was obviously overcooked and rubbery. One of us ordered the grilled king salmon, which at first glance appeared dry and crumbly, only to be further insulted by the very real possibility that it had been previously frozen, given its chewiness and lack of flavor. It was terrible! The other ordered the tilapia special, which came grossly undercooked. The sea bass special that I had ordered was the best of the table, in that the fish was cooked perfectly. However, this was a fleeting virtue as it was covered in a hollondaise so thick I had to wonder what they were trying to hide. When we told the waitress of our dissatisfaction, she was quick to defend the honor of the chef, but upon inspection of the salmon, could not disagree that it was dry. She remedied the situation by taking it off the bill, which was kind. The point is this, if you have a restaurant that specializes in one kind of food, then do it well. This is not that kind of place. It is a marina bar/fish and chips/might as well have karoke joint that is masquerading as a serious (and pricey!) seafood restaurant. Good, fresh, quality seafood needs minimal preparation. Bluewater Grill might as well be serving Van De Kamps with tartar sauce. What a rip-off!
Very satisfied customer – My boyfriend and I had a fantastic time, if you don't like to wait reservation is a must
the service was excellent, Megan our waitress excellent job. We wil definately return.
Very disappointing – The service was extremely slow. Food was okay, nothing spectacular - expensive. The only nice thing about this restaurant was the view of the marina. Would not return.
Loved it! – I enjoyed the ocean view and the service. Their seafood menu is extensive. They don't miss a thing. I was very pleased to find delicious wild salmon among other fish dishes. I look forward to dining here again.
Disappointing Don't believe the hype – We walked in - two women on a 'girls' night out' & were immediately shown one of the two worst tables in the place. When we refused it we were told the wait would be 30 minutes. Service for unescorted women - poor and condescending; coconut shrimp appetizer was more like a sweet seafood macaroon;Caesar salad (isn't that romaine??) looked and tasted like sliced iceburg and had an insipid watery Caesar dressing;sauteed spinach needed blotting - the oil filled the entire plate (thank goodness the lobster tail was on top of its shell!);the waiter left the wine bottle on the table, no cooler,no wine bucket and limited attention for refills; Key lime pie was like cheesecake. Who did they pay for their high ratings?
great food, view and ambiance – This is not only a beautiful marina, ocean front restaurant on the restaurant row of Redondo Beach, but the food is excellent and the prices of food and wine are a good value. My daughter graduated from Cornell University, Hotel School and the Cordon Bleu in Paris, France so we have been subjected to great food experiences. This restaurant is highly recommended...enjoy and check out the happy hour
