Not Worth it!. Sorry but I agree 100% with jewlerygems comment! The owner even once snapped at me when I was window browsing before they were open and slammed the door in my face. I have been in the store over the past 2 years & while some of the employees were polite I have had such a bad experience recently that I will never return & have spread the word to my jewelry obsessed and celebrity stylist friends to not shop there. I will admit the gem bar & jewelry are gorgeous - but I couldn't see the gem bar because a dog and it's dog bed were strewn across the bar. There are far too many amazing jewelry designers (w/ extremely similar styles) in LA for this shop to over mark their jewelry so much & treat customers anything less than valued.

Sonya Ooten sucks. I had the worst experience at Sonya Ooten. First of all, their jewelry is way overpriced. I'm offended she even has the nerve to charge those prices. She had a microscopic pair of diamond dangle earrings for the same price I paid for my diamond David Yurman bracelet. And even worse, her sales people were so rude... it was like Pretty Woman in that dress shop. Little did they know, I CAN afford those prices. Although I buy quality stuff for my money, not the crap she was selling.

love this store!!!. It's my go to place for jewelry - for myself and for gifts! When I want something special and need help picking something out this is the place!

MY FANTASY SHOPPING EXPERIENCE--AWESOME!. I couldn't believe it, I happened to glance in the window after getting a Pinkberry next door and I ended up shopping in the Gem Bar for 2 hours. I've been on Larchmont before and somehow I missed this gem... And, it's not just the jewelry, it's the clothing and perfume and the relaxed atmosphere... I was hooked when this tall, gorgeous, super nice and knowledgeable sales person helped me pick out just the right stone from this incredible glass table filled with gemstones and THEN it turns out it was Sonya, the designer herself, who had just spent the last hour talking shop with me, not just a sales girl! That doesn't happen in LA, it just doesn't...

She was so down to earth and excited about the jewels, I had no idea she owned the place till the shopgirl Whitney (also super sweet and knowledgeable) came back from lunch. AMAZING! I'm hooked and my boyfriend is about to be hooked to, if you know what I'm saying! Holla!!

One of a Kind Find. This Gem Bar is such a special place. It is always a treat to be on Larchmont and stop in. The owner is happy to make special pieces if she doesn't have what you are looking for, and she is very creative. Her new employee is so disarming that you cannot leave without purchasing something. What a great salesgirl! Her clothing retail has improved so much that I cannot wait to see what she gets in for Spring/Summer!!!!!!!!

Fabulous Boutique. Sonya Ooten is a fabulous boutique. It is extremely chic! I love the different designers that are sprinkled through out the Store. Every time I wonder into Sonya Ooten I find it hard to leave with out buying something.! I love the fishnet designs and Sonya's classic Cosmo! There is such a wide range of beautiful things to chose from.! They have jewelry, hand bags, clothing ( Enza Costa, Tucker, Inhabit, and more) , head bands that are covered in Swarovski crystals, an array of vintage one of a kind jewelry, Matta scarves, Serge Lutens perfumes, candles, and much much more!!! Not to mention that you have the ability to pick out your own stones and have something custom made!

Gorgeous gem of jewelry shop!. I'm down on Larchmont a lot, but hadn't ever stepped into Sonya Ooten until the other day & I'm so glad I found this beautiful store full of really special and unique handmade pieces. They specialize in delicate handmade pieces with lots of gemstones encased in gold wire--very pretty & very different. I was also surprised & happy to see that they carry a bunch of other local LA designers. And they have some really cool hard to find clothing like Inhabit & Enza Costa...& other gifty things. Oh, and delicious perfumes. Overall, a great boutique. Super nice & informed sales girl too! I don't know how I'd been missing this store--definitely worth checking out & right next to Pinkberry :)

Owner is not kind. I was in there a long time ago. Boutique and jewelry is nice, but the owner is not. Employee was sweet and helpful, but hope you don't run into the owner.

Overpriced. Esthetically pleasing to look at but the jewelery is very over priced. I've been in twice and each time the sales person seemed annoyed to answer my questions and I was the only customer there. She had very limited knowledge about the properties of the gemstones other than the names.
