Tips for Sushi Studio

Ever since they re-opened it hasn't been the same. Tempura is served cold and the rolls just aren't the same. Still good for the lunch special, but the service isn't what it used to be.

These peolple are Crooks!!!!!. What your wallet. I've eaten here twice and always find at least extra $20 added to my bill which they refuse to remove. Other patrons have also mentioned that this has happend to them as well.

Customizable!. Sean is the best sushi-bar chef! My friend is vegan and he tells Sean to just go crazy with any non-meat/dairy ingredients he wants. They are the most creative and delicious off-menu rolls we've ever had!

Sushi Studio...Love it!. I absolutely love this place!! My hubby and I go there almost every weekend. Yes, there is a wait but it's well worth it. The food, service, & atmosphere are wonderful.

YUM :). Sushi Studio (which I've been calling it Studio Sushi for the longest time) is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend their sunset on 2nd street roll, their sumo roll, and their lynn's special roll!! The chefs at the bar are amazing, and presentation of their food is exceptional as well. Although the restaurant is rather small and next to a not so fancy motel, the service and food greatly makes up for it!! Go there now :) because I am tonight!

Best Sushi in Long Beach. The best sushi in town! Very fun and friendly atmosphere. The suhi is amazing and not a bad chef in the house. I love the 911 roll (spicy spicy...drink a thai iced tea with this one) and monkey roll (which involves banana...I know ut sounds gross but it is absolutely amazing!!!) Highly recommended to all.

Fun, Fun, Fun!. I live in the area and had seen this restaurant for several years without giving a thought to trying it. It's in a very bizarre location - right next to a less-than-attractive motel. (They share the same parking lot). But one day my teenage daughter said her friend's family love Sushi Studio and it's one of their favorite places to go. So we gave it a try and it's now MY favorite sushi bar, hands down! The place is rather small, but attractively decorated. The staff is great - they yell out a Japanese (or something) greeting every time someone walks in the door. At first it startles you, but then you relax and get into the fun, lively atmosphere. The sushi is excellent quality and they have some very innovative and delicious dishes. This is where my teenager learned to like sushi, because they have a few specialty rolls which have a sweet, teriyaki type sauce on top. We always have a great meal. Don't let the location fool you - it's a great restaurant!

Hole in the wall Sushi Place, Great Sushi with a Thai Kick!. I'm not really sure where the Thai part kicks in, but its mentioned in the comic book-styled menu. I found it both entertaining and very well made. This was my first time coming to this restaurant. The menu was colorful and organized properly with respect to the different types of sushi and food they offered. This place is a jewel in Long Beach. You'll miss it if you're not looking because its shoved into the same complex as a motel. It's almost like the motel made an extension just for Sushi. The place is small but has a very nice ambiance. During busier hours (happy hour, when I went) I waited about 5 minutes to be seated at the bar. As far as waiting for a table, I'm not sure how much longer it would have been but it didn't look too long. I had the following:

Spicy Yellowtail Hand Roll

Spider Roll (Always a favorite)

Kamikaze - (From what I remember -- Tempura Salmon with Japanese Mint)

Red Snapper Sushi

If you take some time to read the descriptions of all their sushi, you'll want to order everything on the menu. Everything sounds great and really delicious, I know I'll be going back there real soon.

One last thing.. I spoke to one of the Sushi Chefs and he mentioned that the Sunrise (or was it Sunset) roll was his favorite. Give it a try if you go!

Deco Sushi. New & Refreshing. Wonderful sushi. Small restaurant--prepare to wait during busy times (ie. dinner on weekends).
