The Beverly Hilton has been home to the Golden Globes for the past 50 years. They even have a package for the GG weekend that includes bleacher seats for prime celeb sighting.

great city weekend getaway. I was surprised when I walked in at how big and beautiful it was and even more surprised when I got to the pool level. The pool is huge and there are more than enough lounge chairs unlike every other hotel I have stayed at in LA. Also cool at night you can get drinks at Trader Vics and they show old surfing movies on the side of the building! There was a gorgeous view from the room and a large balcony and everyone is so friendly!! Be sure to visit the spa, it's small but right next to the pool and has a great lounge and the services are very reasonably priced.

This is what neglect does to a hotel. My family started staying here when I was a teenager back in the 70's and we always liked it but as time went by it really became run down. It's too bad because in general Hilton's are rather decent. (although this particular one was privately owned by Merv Griffin) I remember the penthouse restaurant in the pre Stardust days when it was L'Escoffier and it was as fabulous as a restaurant could be. In fact many people claim Merv bought the hotel just so he could always have his favorite table there. The current Stardust is not noteworthy. You get the feeling that this was a wonderful place in days gone by but it has fallen into ruin. The hotel has a shabby sense about it. Again, it's ashame because it was such a glorious place & in a primo location. If you are in Beverly Hills go to any number of other very fine, elegant hotels. This one will be a let down.

Avoid the Beverly Hilton. My expectations were not met. For all the hipe I got about the stars using this hotel I was disappointed in the hotel. Now granted, I know it's Beverly Hills, however, I still don't like to spend ridiculous amounts of money. First off there was no coffee maker in my room. The spa was really far from my room...I stayed in the standard room and had to walk by the main entrance, down the stairs, pass the restaurant and the lounge/bar and finally arrived. Now the spa...they screwed up my facial appointment..they said they only schedule one facial person at a time so you don't have the option of scheduling a facial together with a friend...I found that odd for such a large hotel. I did have a massage there and it was wonderful. Avoid the salon there unless you like are prepared to spend serious dollars...pedicure is $75 which I was unwilling to pay.

The pros: the employees are extremely nice, the place is gorgeous, the C..55 restaurant had wonderful food, I had a leaky toilet which was fixed immediately.

Tip: An alternative to ordering room service is to go down to the main level open lounge...they have a great menu, coffee and tea for reasonable prices...unlike room service prices.

This landmark palace hosts one of the industry's most important award shows.. In Short
After a complete facelift to the lobby, landscaping and rooms in 1999, the property, like many of her guests, now looks a lot younger than her 40-plus years. One can recapture the old-school elegance of Beverly Hills while staying here, from the live poolside music on summer weekends to the excitement surrounding the Golden Globes, which is held in the ballroom every January. The large guest rooms are quite lovely, and most offer terraces and city views.
