great food, quaint, bargain!. i love this place for a few reasons. mainly cos two or three people can stuff themselves and then split the $25 check three ways. plus, you can bring your own bottle (no corkage fee). my wife and i always do the vegetarian sampler (pick 5 items), and maybe a salad, and we practically roll out of there. also, the staff is very accomodating, there's a laidback vibe and the decor is nice.

wonderful place. Very friendly service, cute little restaurant, nice menu. I like all their salads: the mixed salad with black beans, feta, olives, tomatoes and cucumbers is my fav, and they also make a good yogurt salad. In general their meat dishes haven't been as great as the vegetarian stuff.

A total enigma. Everything that comes out of the kitchen tastes fantastic. ...When it comes out. I've never been to a place with worse service. Tonight we ordered five dishes. We got three. First our hummus came out -- accompanied by one piece of bread. Then my main dish came, but nothing for my wife. She got her appetizer 15 minutes later, but never her main dish. I never got my appetizer. It was like we were being Punk'd. And it's not like they're not friendly. They are. They just seem to be clueless about how to run a restaurant. We're always hoping our last visit was an aberration because the food is so good. It reminds us of the Soup Nazi episode from Seinfeld. Not that they're mean, but you almost want to go there despite the service. Sadly, we won't return.

Good food, worth your money. I think this place is much above the average middle eastern food in LA. They know how to spice the meat, which seems to be quite rare. Almost everything we had was tasteful. The entrees include rice and salad, and they are in the $11-$12 range. Had a good tea after dinner for just $1.50.

Shame on Sham !!!. It was horrible. The food tasted like nothing. The server spilled our soup, "nice" guy but needs training. The last straw was that we were charged an 18% gratuity automatically without mentioning in the menu (we ordered 5 main dishes). Do not go there!!

What a Find!. This place is incredible! I've not found any other Arabic restaurant that has prices as low for food as superb! The hummus is unrivaled, the beef shwarma is succulent, and the homemade bread is fantastic! The staff is friendly, though they could be a bit quicker with their service, and as I mentioned, the prices are unbeatable. Try this place, you won't be disappointed!

a real find!. The babaganoush is spectacular! Very good food overall, although the shawarma was a little dry on my first visit. Servers are helpful and friendly, and have a European attitude toward dining, so don't expect to rush through your meal.

Undiscovered Gem. Excellent in every category! This is a real find in Santa Monica. It is apparent that a lot of love an pride goes into the food and service of this family operated restaurant. While it is inexpensive, the decor and ambience by no means reflects that. The dining room is very comfortable with ambient music and decor. The service was genuine and caring. And the food delicious. The shish touek (chicken kabob) is hands down the most succulent, tasty and generous in portion, I have found in any other restaurant in LA. If you haven't been yet, put this at the top of your list!
