Stick with the Breakfasts and You'll Be Fine!

by Glendorite at Citysearch

Great Breakfast!! Good Prices. Fast Service (once your seated).

This place is crammed almost all the time for breakfast, especially on the weekends. Plan to wait.

Unless you're heading there around lunch time, then it's a ghost town. I've been there once for lunch, it just didn't do it for me. Nothing really jumps off the lunch menu, so stick with the breakfast menu.

  • Pros: Good Value - Steak & Eggs under $10
  • Cons: Bring a novel to read....the wait is usually 1 hour on weekend mornings.

A BREAKFAST LOVER'S PARADISE

by iwantthebest at Citysearch

The problem with most popular restaurants is that while they become famous for the dishes that they do best, new customers order something else and then complain that the restaurant?s popularity is unwarranted. Flappy Jack?s Pancake House is a good example. They offer the absolute, widest menu selection of All-American breakfast entrees ever offered in one restaurant location. These offerings include the traditional American breakfast plate of 2 eggs WITH thick bacon OR Canadian bacon OR pork sausage OR turkey sausage OR Hickory-smoked ham OR pork chops OR New York strip steak OR ground beef patty OR country-fried steak OR corned beef hash WITH homestyle potatoes and your choice of toast or 2 Old-fashioned Buttermilk pancakes. Separate breakfast entrees of Biscuits & Gravy, Cereal, Crepes, Eggs Benedict, French Toast, Oatmeal w/real cream, Omelets, Old-fashioned Buttermilk Pancakes, German Pancakes, Swedish Pancakes, Potato Pancakes, Skillet Breakfasts, Belgian Waffles, plain Waffles, and for lunch?soups, salads, hamburgers, sandwiches, and tortilla-wrapped sandwiches are also offered. ?Egg Beaters? or egg whites may be substituted for whole eggs for a small fee. And the choice of breakfast beverages include 100% Orange Juice, Grapefruit Juice, Apple Juice, Cranberry Juice, Tomato Juice, cold Milk, cold Chocolate Milk, hot Chocolate, hot Tea, and of course, hot Gourmet Coffee! Now, how many restaurants can compete with that? However, what they do BEST are the Old-fashioned Buttermilk Pancakes and the Belgian Waffles. Their pancakes are perfect?light and fluffy and taste so much better than the famous International House of Pancakes (IHOP) restaurants. Their Belgian Waffles are light and crispy with a slight, sweet taste, making them some of the best-tasting homemade versions I have ever eaten. The food here is generally good, with some entrees made better than others. The food portions are also very generous, so be sure to arrive with a hungry stomach!

  • Pros: Most entrees less than $10. Seniors get a 10% discount on all menu items.
  • Cons: Not enough waitresses to go around. Sometimes they forget you're there.

Great Breakfast??? NOT

by lillysreview at Citysearch

Well on labor day weekend I decided to try Flappy Jacks, we got there and the place was packed, so far so good right? well it didnt take long about 20 min or so before we were seated. Not bad. The ambiance is route 66 since it is on route 66. The menue looked good so I ordered the potato pancakes and my finacee ordered a tripple berrry creape. First they got her order wrong, brought the berry one but the waitress quickly corrected her mistake when it was brought to her attention. which took a while before she came back, actually she never really came back we flagged her down from the other table. I started to eat my order and it had picked up a lot of funky flavors off the grill so it wasnt that enjoyable. My fiance told me hers was made from compote not real fruit. I guess thats ok but we were expecting fresh fruit especially for almost $8.00. If you are going to make the trek to this so so restuaraunt the orders are large enough to split. My total bill for 2 entrees, coffee and a side came to 24 bucks.

Bottom line- If you have an Ihop nearby go there, save on the gas, its about comparable quality wise and the prices will be cheaper.

  • Pros: it got a lot of hype so it must be good?
  • Cons: The food, no fresh ingrediants
