Editorial Review for Apple Store – by Whitney Friedlander

In Short
Frosted glass doors, white floors, and minimal hardwood shelving allow a lot of open space for these often-crowded shops. A young, hip staff outfitted in black T-shirts and lanyard nametags help families and students find iBook and iMac computers and software. Teens and 20-somethings can be found checking out the latest iPod MP3 players and accessories before heading home to download music and audio from Apple's iTunes.com to their new toys.

When this store first opened, everyone and their brother flocked to it. When the iPhone came out...there were lines and lines. Since the novelty has worn off, the crowds are less (usually during the week) so it's fun to wander around the store and ogle the toys. Lord knows the staff here aren't really that helpful unless they fairly certain you're there to buy something TODAY.

I went to this locations when the new ipod touch started selling, so the store was incredibly crowded. I was surprised with how much store there was, though. There was like a children's area and area for tutorials on how to mac software. And many of the salespeople were attentive and there were plenty, which was surprising since there was a huge crowd. Also, the line moved really fast since once you got to the front of the line, the cashier would ask you what you wanted and they would get it for you really quickly. It seemed really efficient.

Pros: big store, a lot of salespoeple

Cons: always pretty crowded, long lines
