really nice hotel
Editorial Review by Kim Cooper. Since 1965, classic hillside-view Beverly Hills style, modernized with Tempur-pedic beds, high-speed internet, VIP lounge, and patios in every room.
Reliable luxury overlooking Beverly Hills..
The Scene
This twelve-story property was once known as the Beverly Hillcrest, a monument to the 1960s until it was renovated for $13 million and reopened in 1993 with an updated, "European" style. Awash in lush tropical plantings and slightly over-the-top Old World design, it sits high atop a grassy knoll, with a commanding view of the city and beyond.
The Details
The guest rooms are adorned with pastel-hued decor and expensive-looking lithographs and feature private balconies, some with Jacuzzis and all with superb views of Beverly Hills and the Hollywood Hills. Guests can take advantage of concierge and secretarial services, as well as complimentary sedan service to downtown Beverly Hills. The ground floor restaurant, Lot 1224, goes for the look of a continental dining room but is strong on seafood with fusion accents. The hotel's private, top-floor function room is popular for weddings and business functions.
A soft spot on Rodeo Drive.... Spacious rooms are luxurious and romantic without being fussy. Comfortable and cozy with soothing colors and tasteful decor. Our room had a view of the L.A. skyline and surrounding mountains. Exceptional value, expecially when compare with the overpriced lodging options in Santa Monica. Worth the short drive to this lovely oasis.
