Editorial Review for Boe at the Crescent – by Tara de Lis
The Scene
This stylish Dodd Mitchell-designed eatery feels like a cross between a hep bachelor pad and Case Study House No. 22. A small front room showcases sleek, white leather couches, shag rug and hot-stone fireplace, which it shares with the dual front patio. The adjacent private dining room provides prime people-watching--or curtains for privacy. Busy servers do their best to accommodate everyone.
The Food
The former "international street food" menu has given way to eclectic appetizers and new American-style mains. Mini-curry burgers provide an ideal segue into the meal. Plump beef patties are topped with tamarind chutney and sandwiched between thin baguette slices. Seasonal mixed-green salad, accented by cherries and hazelnuts, is modestly dressed in coriander vinaigrette. For entrees, luscious duck breast is nicely spiced with pink peppercorns and served in pan sauce to reinforce the bird's flavor; tender scallops are enlivened with kumquat slices. Make-your-own s'mores are a house favorite dessert.

Headed to this place for drinks after bailing on 1912 (@ the Beverly Hills Hotel) and it saved the night. Service was impeccable, drinks were good, ambience was just right -- not too loud, but full enough to be lively. Small, cozy, not a gross meet market. Perfect lounge spot.
Pros: Service, ambience.
Cons: None.

If you're looking for a new favorite find, you have to try Boe at the Crescent! Beautiful location and a great outdoor seating area. Their new Temptation Happy Hour menu is delicious. I recommend the Green Envy martini and the Fried Macaroni-&-Cheese Bites. Really friendly service and attractive crowd. I'm hooked!
Pros: Drinks, Menu, Service
