The Scene – The cafeteria-style setup and easygoing, efficient servers contribute to the laid-back vibe of this breakfast and lunch spot. A bustling business crowd grabs to-go items or hangs out at natural-wood tables; solo diners lounge at the long bar. Potted bamboo and bright yellow umbrellas decorate an outdoor patio. – – The Food – Melisse's Josiah Citrin (Lemon) and JiRaffe's Rafael Lunetta (Moon) may have scaled down the extravagance of their higher-end restaurants, but the food still delivers in flavors and complexity. Terrific Breakfast and Lunch Spot
by nkim7
I used to come here everyday. The breakfasts are delicious, and they give generous portions. The avocado and cheese breakfast burrito is soooooo good, as is the breakfast panini and pancakes. For lunch, I'd grab either the pre-made turkey or roast beef sandwich, take it home, and pop it in the toaster so it's nice and hot.....I was seriously addicted to these sandwiches for a while. The grilled skirt seak salad is awesome, and the korean noodles are not like the authentic korean noodles, but good enough that I was also getting this everyday. The ambience is casual, with a loft feel, and it's always packed. I highly recommend this place.
- Pros: food, ambience
- Cons: hard to find parking sometimes, wait can be long during lunch time
breakfast/lunch place with strange hours
by bbm2000
It says on this site that hours are 8am to 3pm, but in reality, they only serve breakfast from 8am to 10:15am, and lunch from 11:30am to 3pm. I went there around 11am and they told me that they are "switching over the grill" and only thing I can get was their pre-made salads which didn't look too appetizing (looked like salad bar at whole foods). The woman at the register was rather cold just like the atmosphere of the restaurant: she didn't even acknowledge me when I walked in, didn't want to talk to me until I asked her.
I have never heard of a place that have dead time in their hours for more than an hour. They should close the place, or at least have a sign up (I didn't see any sign on the door, and even on their website, it only says it if you look through their menu).
They have parking under the building which you get hour free with validation, but finding parking inside the garage was hard, and there were hardly any signs to lead us out of there once I parked. I give them a point for their food which I didn't get to eat, and another point for the other worker who was nice enough to give me a validation anyway.
It's certainly not a fair review since I didn't eat there but it seems like it'll be only good if you work nearby and can walk there- not the kind of place I'd want to drive to. I won't go there again.
- Pros: it looks clean
- Cons: odd hours. hard to find parking in the garage.
Try this Place

I went there last week for the first time. I had the cheesburger with fries and coleslaw. The burger was fantastic as were the fries and coleslaw. The lady had the chicken panini with pesto. It had great flavour but the ratio of bread to filling was too large. I'll go back again because there is a dearth of good sandwich places on the westside.
This place is a good alternative to Clementine's if you don't want to deal with the drive and wait over there. Not as good but enjoyable to say the least. Bay Cities is good if you have time and can deal with the full day committment that the sandwiches demand.
