The Forbidden City

Forbidden City is not yet another to claim Asian Fusion. Very deliberately we keep two distinct kitchens. One Chinese, the other Japanese, neither are fused as they are both authentic and pure. The chefs specialize in their own distinct customs, flavors and cultures. Our Chinese Chef Wang Xiao Xin is 1 of only 9 chefs taught by the National Chef of China. Our Sushi Chef has over twenty years of experience working at famous sushi bars in Tokyo. Our food is fresh, authentic and extraordinary. Our decor and ambiance is unparalleled as we have imported over sixty six tons of custom handcrafted artifacts from overseas. Our happy hour is DAILY from 11:30am-6pm with great lunch specials. We feature live entertainment every night. Come for karaoke on Mon/Tues nights.Spontaneous dancing is known to take place and encouraged on Wed to Sat nights when we have live music and entertainment

In Short – The owner of El Cid and the Larchmont transformed this former banquet hall into a versatile nightspot. Dining rooms are dressed in racy crimson and the Capital Records building towers over a spacious patio. A basic Chinese-American menu starts with crispy spring rolls and breaded shrimp in portions large enough to share. Entrees are dominated by rice and noodle dishes, like kung pao chicken chock-full of bell peppers and onions; beef chow mein; and house-specialty pineapple fried rice.
Editor's Tips
- What to Drink:
- Along with a full bar, the restaurant emphasizes its hot tea selection, which includes Chinese green tea, Hong Kong specialty tea and "The Forbidden City's House Tea."

this place is way too small and hood! Unless you want to listen to lil john songs...don't go. Try another club across the street.
Saturday Rock Hollywood
by jennydds
We were there this past Saturday night celebrating a birthday party for one of the girls. I didn't expect much from the club , but to my surprise the club was really jumping off. The music was great and the people were nice. The staff was wonderful , we had bottle service and our host took care of us like no other. I really would recommend this place to anyone wanting to party at a nice spot in hollywood.
IN THE HEART OF HOLLYWOOD
by JerryBiv
Forbidden City - One of LA's hottest nightspots with great entertainment, excellent but reasonably priced Asian food and gorgeous, eyecatching decor. The dining room has a distinctly Oriental vibe going, but the lounge is all modern, with cozy booths and plasma TV screens. Afterhours, the dining room is tranformed into a dancefloor. Should you make it into the mezzanine VIP area, you'll get a kick out of the retractable roof, which allows you to stargaze in more ways than one on warm nights. Even if you're just a normal guy or gal, you can enjoy great views of the nearby Capitol Records building from the patio.
The Next Big Thing In Hollywood
by Jennygoldman
Me and my friends have been hearing alot of things about the renovation of the forbidden City nightclub. We hope that this place will rock like the way it was a couple of years ago. I know for a fact that hollywood and Vine is going to be the next big spot to party and be seen. Can't wait to see what it's going to look like after the face lift. We are in desperate need of a new spot on hollywood and Vine.
