Editorial Review for C & O Cucina – by Jennifer Schwartz

The Scene
When there's a wait at hyper-popular C&O Trattoria, this nearby offshoot is ready to handle the overflow of hungry hordes. In the casual dining room, a festive atmosphere is fueled by honor-system bottles of wine and "That's Amore" sing-alongs. Youthful servers are eager to please, doling out oven-fresh garlic rolls with zeal.

The Food
Heaping portions of northern Italian dishes are pleasantly adapted to American palates. Tender, lightly battered calamari served with marinara sauce, and caprese salad with moist buffalo mozzarella and sweet basil, pair well with a glass of Chianti. House-favorite pasta dishes, like rich and satisfying shrimp ravioli cloaked in silky lobster sauce, surpass staid standards such as over-cooked capellini adrift in under-seasoned marinara sauce. What sets this C&O apart from the mother ship is the well-conceived grill menu, featuring grilled meats and seafood. The superbly seasoned salmon with garlicky mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables is a hit.

Always much to enjoy. Service is always good. The garlic bread is a must-try, but don't let it spoil your appetite.

Pros: Food, Service, Parking
