best food, wonderful service, love new le dome, nice outdoor patio, best restaurant, consistantly wonderful staff, very expensive forgetful indiferent servers
TERRIBLE TERRIBLE tried twice. UNLESS you are a somebody on the A list do not even expect any service or level of reasonable propmptness. I have given this place two tries in the last tyear and each time was worse than the time before. Made a reservation for an anniversary last May and was expecting much better service and food. The portions were extremely small and pricey. I dont mind spending money for a good meal but this was definitely not it. They proceeded to put is in a small tucked away corner where we could not be seen or heard (practically) and it appeared as if they wanted to even ignore the fact that we were there at all. IN A WORD DON'T GO HERE they are rude, impolite, and EXTREMELY unprofessional. I can not believe that people like this place
excellent food and service. We had a wonderful meal at Le Dome. The waitstaff was very cordial and prompt. The food was excellent. The butterfish was amazing and the Kobe skirt steak was very good. We sat on the patio which was nice for a summer night I would definitely recommend Le Dome to anyone.
Never seen anything like this before..... Just went for the first time and was amazed. There is NO corkage fee on any night! Also, the chef will prepare a tasting menu of whatever you would like to try. I had the black pig pork tenderloin (AMAZING), steak tartare, and kobe beef skirt steak. What other restaurant of such quality would cater to your wishes like this? Substitutions are no problem! The waiter was attentive and helpful. Le Dome is worth a try - despite some so-so reviews on this site, it really may surprise you. I look foward to going back soon!
A Quality Option. The food was quite good, although I would have preferred to knock ten dollars off the price of everything, guess I'm just cheap. Otherwise, there is little to complain about. As others have said, the service was a little indifferent, however, entirely competent and extremely polite. As a former server, I know that there is nothing wrong with that, it's just a style of service. If you want sugary sweet people bothering you every 2 minutes, then go to Applebee's. Ambience is VERY impressive. Hot t.v. celeb one booth over. Wouldn't trade the evening for anything. Recommended.
Best in L.A. - so far.
SERVICE: OUTSTANDING! Ezra was charming and made "beautiful" drinks. Our waiter, Manny, was knowledgeable, personable, and very attentive. The bussers promptly removed empty dishes, and brought new utensils with each course. The general manager, Daniel, was cordial, appreciative, and a true gentleman.
FOOD: AMAZING! Every course was fresh, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The ingredients were of highest quality: dark rich kale, flaky crusty bread with Fleur de Sel, 40 year Balsamic, microgreens, 40 day dry-aged Angus beef - everything unbelievable.
DESSERT/APERITIFS: The souffle was like a moist chocolate feather. At the conclusion of our meal we were treated to a taste of Dolce, a late harvest Chardonnay, which was refreshing and sweet.
OVERALL: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! What ever complaints previous reviewers had I would attribute to being newly reopened, or to typical V-Day insanity. After a year since reopening, Le Dome is a well run, gourmet establishment with unparalleled sincere service.
Le Dome has never been better...... Some of the best food in LA is at the NEW Le Dome. The manager (Daniel) makes you feel welcome and the chef (Sam) are creating unbelievable dishes. Very good!
Rudest manger in LA. (not enough room to explain).
I reserved 3 weeks before:
After arriving at the restaurant we were taken outside table where people can smoke. I (nicely) notified the host that I had a reservation for a booth and did not want to sit outside. She immediately brought the manager and who became agitated, rudely telling me that he never gives a booth to anyone other than his regulars, I did not even have a reservation and he was doing me a favor giving me any table. (Staff had called to confirm my reservation two days before).
He suggested that I must have made the reservation at a different restaurant and I could leave if I did not take the table he was offering me. It being V-Day and not wanting to take my wife to Taco Bell for dinner, I took the table.
I would suggest eating somewhere else.
Successful reinvention of a Sunset Strip power-dining staple..
This Hollywood relic is back in action and looking great, thanks to a $2 million Dodd Mitchell (Chi, Dolce) makeover. The multiroom space captures a dramatic and romantic "goth-lite" vibe, with impressive stone walls, dark-wood arches, glowing marble bar and a horizontal fire bar. From Don Johnson to decked-out scenesters, everyone here seems to knows each other, and they're all treated well.
Chef Sam Marvin has updated the classic Continental menu with Californian, French and Italian influences. For the most part, dishes are deliciously over the top, and prices follow suit (caviar is listed as "expensive"). The Le Dome salad is sublime and heaping, with hearts of palm, avocado, shrimp, sweet onion, tomato and iceberg lettuce. Veal roulade with prosciutto and provolone is decadent, as is foie gras torchon with aspic and roasted-apple reduction. The Harlequin souffle, with Grand Marnier sauce and Chantilly cream, is light and moist.
flabbergasted. My wife had dinner at Le Dome with some friends on two different occasions in the last two weeks and finally I had to see it for myself after the way she has been going on. So last night we had dinner and it was everything she said it was, from Daniel who runs the front like no other to ultimately the best food in the city and we eat out very often. Every dish we tried was perfect, the chef created a personal menu just for us and it was magic. His name is Sam Marvin and he came out to visit our table and was so apprciative of us supporting the restaurant. It was us who were appreciative. We cant wait to turn our friends on to the best restaurant in the city that people are just starting to take notice.
