SPOILED FOOD
by BrentwoodGal6
A year ago I went to this cafe and it was really good. But this year...OMG. My father and I went for brunch last month. We both ordered omelettes, and they were so browned as to be almost burned! If I wanted burned eggs, I could have made them at home and cheaper. He wanted to try the cafe again, so we went a couple weeks later. This time I ordered a chicken salad. The chicken was OVERCOOKED AND RANCID. I first tried a thin piece of the chicken that was so overcooked it was unchewable. Then I tried another thicker piece and it was spoiled!!! No joke!!! I spit it out and am VERY LUCKY I DID NOT GET FOOD POISONING. I had the server take it away and tried to talk to the chef, but he seemed not to understand what the problem was and didn't seem to care at all that he could have given a customer botulism. My father and I will never ever go back to this cafe. It was great last year; I don't know what their problem is now but they certainly should get an F in restaurant ratings.
healthy, flavorful, friendly

This neighborhood cafe serves up a delicious, healthy breakfast with smooth, flavorful coffee (free refills) and generously-sized, fresh-squeezed orange juice. Our omelets were light, flavorful and surrounded by delicious cut fruits and roasted potatoes. We tried other cafes but keep returning to Lazy Daisy.
good food, and somewhat friendly staff
by seriousappetite
well i have been going to the Lazy Daisy here on Wilshire (west LA) for the past 3 years, i have always loved the food and the wait staff. until this past year things havent been as great as before. The food is always great especially the breakfast and for the prices offered, its amazing. i love the coffee selection offered; you cant go wrong with them (and free refills).
Now my problem is that although most of the wait staff is very friendly and make you feel welcomed even if its you first time, there is one particular waitress (Joan) who tends to be very slow. at first i thought it was because she was new but after a couple of months, not much has changed.
when we get her she tends to be a bit rude. Last week i was in with a few friends for lunch and happen to have her waitting on me, after ordering drinks from her it took her 25min. to come back and take out order. and almost an HOUR for our food to come. when it finally did it was cold, we asked her if she could change it and instead of doing so decided to argue with us about it.
as i said before the place is great most of the wait staff is amazing, i love the fact that they have a patio. but some changes need to be made. the Daisy has great potential.
Something needs to be done.
- Pros: Pet friendly patio, food, prices,
- Cons: hassle with parking
Not worth it--at all

Quality of food and portions do not warrant the prices. If they mess up your order don't expect them to apologize. Never going back again.
Great place for a lazy weekend meal.

Lazy Daisy is one of the places to go on a lazy weekend and grab breakfast or lunch. They have an extensive list of various coffees, and the meals are healthy, fresh, and delicious. This place is very casual and the prices are fair. There is an outdoor patio area for those who enjoy eating outside. Not my all time favorite but you cannot go wrong with this place. I once saw "Big Game" James Worthy eating here.
- Pros: Quick service, fair prices, healthy and fresh
- Cons: n/a
