I love it.. with the help from my wife, i'm always happy with my lunches there. we're in irvine, but whenever we are in westside, we try our best to make a stop to simpang asia. wish there was a good indonesian restaurant in OC like simpang. -akasu

Real Indonesian food.
I remember going to the beach in the morning in the north of Bali and buying nasi bungkus for 500 rupiah from a woman sitting at a wooden table. Nasi bungkus is rice, vegetables, egg, spices, meat wrapped snugly in a banana leaf.
I have been disappointed by most Indonesian restaurants in the U.S., making gado-gado out of Skippy peanut butter and using powdered turmeric instead of fresh. At Simpang Asia, I'm back in Indonesia at a warung, roosters crowing and kretek smoke drifting into the air. Ikan pepasan. Nasi kuning. Bakso. The fragrance and textures of the food, beautifully presented, bring back memories, right here in LA.

Great Indonesian food.
Great tasting indonesian food, friendly service, relax and casual environment and reasonably priced.
Incredible choices of Indonesian food. Cool selection of hard to find Indonesian and other asian groceries.
We had a great experience in simpang. Can't wait to come back.

Great for ethnic groceries.... I love visiting Simpang. They offer small treats for folks from that part of the world. Their dinner menu is delicious and nicely priced too. Thumbs up.

it's delicious. they have a great service, everyone seem to know everybody by greeting their name. They have really good food too. If i can say they have better food than food itself in Indonesia.
